    That’s pretty sweet.

Just be aware that Toyota pickups don’t make very good trailers. Something about where the axle is. My dad made one and he never uses it because of how bad it tows... and he’s made a handful of trailers.

Just make sure it’s got a long tongue and I’m sure it’ll be fine.

I’d save if it were mine. I stick a small diesel in it and finally take advantage of my endless supply of used fryer oil.

I like my viair. It’s a little bigger than the 88p but well made.

I also have the red Chinese made one that everyone sells that has been super reliable for me. I though I ruined it when I cross threaded the hose connector so I bought the viair but my dad rethreaded it and it’s still pumping away.

I carry a 88P in my truck at all times. I also often carry a 12V 20AH AGM batttery that I normally use for powering astronomy gear, and will use it to power the viaair instead of trying to reach from the vehicle batteries back to the trailer axles.

my *only* minor complaint about the viair is its integral pressure gauge. when you hook it up to the tire, you get an accurate reading, but when you turn the compressor on, it reads 5-8 PSI higher than the actual tire pressure, and even when you shut it off, this higher pressure stays... so I pump the tires til it reads about 10 PSI higher than I want them, then bleed them down using my handheld tire gauge to the correct pressure...

the 88p's duty cycle allows 25 minutes continuous at 30 PSI, then a 35 minute cooldown.... it can inflate a LOT of tacoma tires in 25 minutes :p i find at maybe 5 mins per tire to take them from really soft sand crawling to highway pressure, the time to switch from wheel to wheel provides plenty of cooldown, it never gets close to too hot.

Random kid story...came upstairs to my 7 year old ratting out the 2 year old for unraveling an entire roll of toilet paper in the playroom.

    5B8052D4-1975-4662-93E4-CA016B971E4C.jpg

So I start to clean up and tell the 2 year old it’s not ok to do that. I gather all the TP and go into the bathroom and find the spring loaded TP holder perfectly in place on the stand. The 2 year old is smart but no way she took it off and put it back on...ask the 7 year old how that might have happened and get a mischievous smile from her. Little punk set up her sister to get in trouble. Never a dull moment.

Can someone explain to me the difference between the tepui Kukenam explorer and ruggedized and if it’s worth the extra cost.

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
The ruggedized are beef’d up explorers.

I have a ruggedized kukenum. Bought it used for a bit more than a new base model.

Features are listed on the website of each model.

    Explorer:
600 denier ripstop 260G poly cotton blend canopy (UV and mold resistant) that will stand up to the elements in any season. All-around no-see-em mesh paneling gives plenty of ventilation, and every panel (including the skylight) opens up for more airflow and a great view of the stars and trees when the rainfly is removed. Inside the tent is complete with 4 large internal pockets for storing gear and camping accessories, and a 2-1/2” high density foam mattress for home-like comfort.

    Ruggedized:
    Diamond Plate Base
360g Dual Stitched Fabric (40% heavier than standard models)
Anti-condensation mat (1/2") under the mattress
Fully wrapped 3/4" heavy duty internal frame
Heavy duty 3-bolt hinges and welded aluminum base construction
Extra-large internal pockets, gear anchor points, & bedding Straps
