    Im getting there......
driving home tonight came face to face with a drunk driver had to hit and cross a raised median to avoid collision. ended up scratching up the end of the low hanging cross member behind the front wheels. scratches are a max of 16th inch deep (bare metal shows) looks like i got high centered on rock. i drove 25 miles home following without any unnormalities do you think my trucks ok? also i very slightly bent the portion of the member that is a small plate parallel with road surface right at its end but didnt break any welds or anything... what you think?

Yes really carefully look at the driver side exhaust pipe before they connect together with the passenger side. Your going to really have to climb under there to get a good look. Check that pipe and heat shield for damage. It's the lowest hanging fruit on the truck so you may have banged it up somewhat or ripped the heat shield off.

Hopefully the truck hit hard enough so it bounced and missed that spot.

Oh the heat shield is just a extra piece of thin stainless steel welded on the exhaust pipe at that point. A extra out layer with a bit of air space between.
