No doubt. Backed up for a while all around. Usually 10 a day go through or more Id say.

We weren't that far. Could almost feel it. Devin and I are getting used to the train now but that was one of the moments where we looked at each other and went..."well that was weird.."

 

With the 4 that ran right through Cheney I stopped hearing trains or track noise about 3 months after living there. Had a buddy that lived in a house in between two tracks and the house would shake but you stop noticing even that haha

 

Not my favorite thing. I think it's weird there aren't city ordinances in place to at least keep them from blasting their horns 20 times at 2am. Fuckin stupid.

Hopefully that'll change next year at least for us.

 

In the PHX suburbs they aren't allowed blow the horns. I guess all the old fucks got their diapers in a wad. But it's the only place I've ever been where the trains don't blast at every intersection

 

no was my assumption too. Huge rail yard in Billings/Laurel so..yeah. Plus most is coal going to the coast to China. So between the rail companies and coal mining..id say im screwed.

But hope to move out of town anyways soon.

Same in St Louis. I live about the same distance as I do now from a big line. But they could only go 20 maybe 30mph and no horns. Was kind of peaceful hearing and feeling the slight rumble at night.

 

Can you really call Columbus a town, its more of a village

I miss Powell. It was small too, but bigger than this. At least it had 3 auto parts stores, 2 hardware stores, 2 lumberyards and good ole Lintons a farmer store with lots of goodies.

Here I can't even get metric bolts..wtf.

 

Powell reminded me of Cheney a lot, like right down to the town layout. I liked it

Yeah I like it there. It's a nice spot. Central to lots of cool country too.

Haha I'm not a city guy. I loved my hometown. Was a nice place.

New lens comes tomorrow too.

Looks like the tabs lock it in and it's a twist one. Comes in two pieces looks like, one mount and the sensor. Twist out the sensor possibly after lifting some of the tabs, im guessing there are 3 or 4.

 

new 18-135mm came in today. Soooo freaking nice to have working autofocus again. And the USM focus is noticeably faster and much quieter.

Stoked.

Truck got tires rotated today and an alignment. Gotta pick it up tomorrow. Now have to figure out when Im going to get my food prep done correctly and change the oil.

Enjoy that canyon section? I really enjoyed that road.

 

It was fun. Way longer than I thought though.

The canyon was super washed out. Almost impassable actually going down. Climbing back out was super soft loose dirt. Gave me trouble. But made it through. Hoping there will still be a road there when we leave. A lot of water falling..

 

That's how I remember it.

After you pass the sketchy ranch outpost, you go downhill and past a fence/gate that was barely wide enough for our trucks. Uphill wasn't bad except for loose rocks.
