Can anyone help explain the following behavior of my Blue Sea ML-ACR:

• Everything seems to behave as it should for the most part. Followed wiring diagram. I leave the switch on auto.
• I have observed after letting my truck sit for 24 hours, when I open the door, the current draw from the led dome light will cause the batteries to disconnect, even though there is no draw on the auxiliary battery.
• When I come back later (say a few hours), the batteries have reconnected.

Any idea what's going on?

 

It reads the voltage of both batteries, so when you unlock the doors and marker lights flash it’s enough to drop voltage to disconnect.

The resting voltage must be high enough for it to reconnect?

Have you measured the voltage?

 

Sounds like a healthy system to me. Strong (matched?) batteries that recover from a minimal voltage drop. Remember, all the ml-acr is doing when the truck is off is measuring the state of voltage on the two batteries. If the difference becomes too great, it disengages.

FWIW, I had this happen to an extent even with the fridge cycling on and off.

 

Has anyone purchased terminal boots for the Blue Sea ML ACR studs?

The stud is 3/8. I was wondering if these would work.

Hi guys. For those that have a dual battery system on the original battery location.

How was your experience been with the added weight there?
I'm concerned about the sheet metal handling all the additional weight.
Also concerned about clearance with neighboring parts, particularly the oil filler.
When off-roading things tend to shift around.

Noob question. What is the difference between the Off Grid Split Duals and the Side by side Duals? 300$ difference.

 

One is split and the other one is side-by-side... Not sure what the actual question is there..

 

Side by side means there next to each other. In the stock location.
Split means different sides on the engine bay. Typically one in the stock spot, other on the passonger side by firewall

 

I under stand one is side by side and the split is in 2 locations. But why is offgrid4x4 selling them so differently priced? 300$ difference.

The split looks way better and more cnc parts. I guess that’s why?

 

More r&d, more CNC, more wire? All I can think of, you can email them and see what they say

I was going to do a dual battery set up to have the extra insurance. But then I received one of those small boost packs as a gift. Then the stock 2012 Battery died so I replaced it with an AMG battery. Now I don't think for my purposes that there would be any advantage to having the dual set up instead of the single battery and a small boost pack. A lot less expensive as well.

 

im looking to run a dual battery set up in my 2014 TRD sport (apparently sports have a different bay layout) can anyone confirm if this
