It's actually more of a, "can you confirm that in doing this right?" Type of thing. Before I waste a lot of effort. And yes, I've checked budbuilts instructions, it basically just says, "install the crossmember."

    1. The left side will bolt up here, correct?

    2. The right side will bolt up to these holes, correct? What hardware is used where? A picture of the installed crossmember, particularly the passenger side, would be very helpful

I just installed some Budbuilt skid plates and I had the same question. I called Bud and he stated that the bolts basically hang in the existing holes on the passenger side. There are welded nuts on the cross member, align to the holes on frame and use the bolts and washer supplied. I was surprised how solid everything was onced the skid plates were bolted on.

That's what I did but it didnt seem..... right. I was wondering if I was supposed to drill and run bolts from the other side. It seems solid. And it just has to hold them up til something pushes them upward

Thanks for the reply. I got that. The passenger side is what I was hung up on

The nuts are in the crossmember. Then the bolts just pass through to open holes in the frame? Seems a little weird

So I put a call in to budbuilt yesterday. They said bud was out for the day but hed get back to me. He just called me from his deathbed. Apparently hes sick (it sounded like a rough one) but still took the time, energy, and effort to confirm what you guys were saying.

    + hella rep for Budbuilt.

And yes, the bolts just go through the nuts on the crossmember into the corresponding holes in the frame. But dont be a dumbshit like me. Take your factory transfer case skid off first. Or it will contact the belly plate and give you a very nice rattle

I guess I'm a dumbshit as well, lol. I had a nasty vibration since I installed. Just checked and, sure enough, the stock transfer skid plate is contacting the Budbuilt plate. Thanks for the information!

Maybe its cuz I have a 5 speed and I aim for low engine rpms when blending the clutch so she bucks pretty hard lol
