    Smart.

It looks like dirtydeeds is going to make some pretty sweet exhaust options where you can keep all your CATs in place anyway... that modified mid-pipe and equal length X pipe W/resonator... take my money lol.

    Nope.

I mean, I guess you COULD fail the visual inspection. :notsure:

Like, if you had all your CATs removed.

You will throw a code with all CATs removed though, even if all sensors are in place and operating normally.

The ECU does some kind of test or calculation regarding CAT efficiency. Obviously this only includes the front CATs, as the sensors are on either side of them. I think I read in the SM that the efficiency test assumes that if the front CATs are fucked, so are the rear ones.

EDIT: Here is the excerpt from the SM -

I’m running URD spec-u and the rear 2 cats are removed. No CEL.

...and that makes perfect sense according to how the CEL is set (for DTC P042000 and P043000).

So, OVtune is closed for the weekend. A well deserved break for sure!

Is the testing of 1.05 still going on? New file - feedback - changes - new file.. repeat.

@OVTune, Mat, several people have posted about learning “coming back”. Can you comment?

If I had to guess, he's probably taking into consideration the 3k+ kits being used, and around 30 (1%) complaining.

Not sure if anyone else wants to chime in, but I think we can all agree that there is a difference between the truck adjusting to a new tune and and the tune learning. The question is: does removing the negative terminal from the battery result in having to readjust to the tune.

I’ll take my truck for another drive before I disconnect the battery for a reset. I feel like things have “softened up” some with a tendency to shi(f)t around a little more often.

I don’t drive my Tacoma as often as I should but I do feel that there has been a change since flashing 1.04R.

12.10.19 is, I believe, what I have, and works on my ‘18. Download and try it. If your vehicle information auto-populates when you “connect to vehicle”, it’s the right version. You can’t hurt anything by simply connecting to the truck.

I am running 1.04, i have not experienced any “learning”. I would suggest not disconnecting the negative battery- as from my understanding you are reseting your ECU and your truck is having to learn all the fuel trims again. Though i would wait until monday for a responce from Matt as he does not work on the weekeneds.

Thank you, I'll give it a shot. One more n00b question, it should work with the cable and plug thing I got with my tune, right? The OVTune Rev3 cable, specifically. Or do I still need to order a tactrix to make this work?
