Ordered Color Match Grille

This morning I ordered a color matched grille from toyotaparts123.com
There was an option to enter my VIN when the order was placed, but I didn't want to run all the way out to check it, so I declined.
There was also a place for comments, so I asked if what they are calling 'Bronze' was indeed the right one to match my Pyrite.

Immediately (it seemed) I got an email response that said they would need my VIN to be sure....ok, whatever, so I went and got it and sent it back within 10 mins. or so.

Since then, nothing. So finally I went back to the website and checked my order status, and it says "On Hold"...wtf??

So I call them up, and they said, yes it's on hold because according to your VIN, your truck came with a chrome grille, not a color matched one!!!

Ay yi yi!! So I confirm that yes, that is the reason I'm ordering a color matched one, and she says it will ship out early next week.

That's all, just wanted to share/vent and it's pretty funny now that I typed it all out.

 

Yea, if your VIN says you have a chrome grille, they will call if you order a color matched one, because it isn't chrome. I did the same thing... fits fine of course.

 

Great, thanks for that comment because since I posted, she has called me back and said she can't be sure it fits.
I called the local Toyota parts dept. and he said they are indeed the same grille size and connections for the SR5 and the TRD models.

 

Update: Got the grille last night, put it on in less than 10 minutes. Fit like a color-matched glove!

I was wondering what the grill cost. I am thinking of doing a grilll mod. I also have a Pyrite Mica and would buy another to do the mod myself.

Are you gonna do the satoshi grill mod? I reallly think that would like awesome with the color. I have a 2010 Pyrite Mica and am thinking of doing that to mine.
