If all four are backwards as it sits, what if you put them on the opposite side they are on now. If the leftside points and rotates-------> ,wouldn't putting them on the right side point and rotate<-------?

 

It doesn't work that way, they aren't directional.

Yea, none of them that I've ever encountered, and that's A LOT of possums, have done that. They run away or try to find somewhere to hide. Which is basically what this one was doing. It was hiding behind the trashcans and hissing, but not running away. It took a few steps when I started beating the trashcan with a cooler, which is when I popped him in the head.

When they're on the road, they run across the road or back where they came from when a car comes up on them. They don't just flop over and act dead.

There's no way I would have went anywhere near that thing to do any of the bolded sentence. He definitely wasn't stiff. But if you wanna believe what that says and try it next time, be my guest. Let me know how that turns out for ya.

 

glad im not the only one! lol. i just watched the one they did with the fireworks shooting from the cake. it was awesome!

 

I wouldn't trust a possum that was playing dead. A possum will bite the crap out of you. they are vicious little creatures and are especially nasty looking when wet, either from rain or being in a dog's mouth. My chow chow loves them and will play with them until they're no fun any more, eat their head and then bring the 'trophy' up on the back porch. Funny story, I know a guy who used to keep dog food in a large trash can out on the porch. One night a possum got in the trash can without knocking the lid off. Dude comes out and reaches in to grab the scoop without looking in. He pulled his hand out with a possum hanging on it. Possums bite. They used to get caught in our rabbit boxes/havahart traps when we were kids. I thought they were scary then. Someone knew an old black man that would come get them. He'd let it out of our trap and chase it around the yard until he wore it out then he'd grab it, put it in a box, feed them good for a week and eat them. Possums, best left alone. I've seen my share, too. Only a very few playing possum. I don't kill them, though.
