I had a rental F-150 for a week or so. That drove me NUTS!! And, do you think it will STILL work after 10 or 15 years of use as a work truck, or running trails??

    100%

    Nice and clean.

And with the badges and stickers removed, the 3rd gen is a fine looking truck.

    Imo, of course.

Of course of course. Let’s just be clear, these are just our opinions, I know liking these things is offensive to most on here.

Good, I'd feel like chump if my vehicle started up every time the light turns green. Every time I hear a vehicle do this at a stop light. I think to myself, shouldn't have turned it off.

I used to work for a delivery company that implemented the policy, of shutting off the engine at stop lights. This was to save fuel, I'm sure that they had to replace more starters after this policy.

I have driven probably 50 cars that have this feature. I travel for work a lot so I have a ton of wheel time in rental cars.

After driving cars with it, I have to say my answer would now actually be maybe. My experience has been the cars with this feature turned on increases fuel economy by a pretty big number. which honestly seems a bit odd to me given that starting the engine should take up more fuel than just allowing it to run.

Would I want it on my Tacoma that is going to be a fun vehicle I'm going to use to go camping and biking and Wheeling, no, would I want it on a vehicle I was using for a daily driver commuter car? sure why not it's going to get me a lot better gas mileage. I can't see any downside to that

As long as it doesn't negatively effect starter/battery/engine life.

I think it would slow you down if you want to move the second the light turns green.

IMO it seems like another computer operated system that will eventually fail.

This is true. Another computer system is bound to fail at some point. You are also correct in thinking it does slightly delay getting the jump at a stop light. So I wouldn't want it on a street race car either.

I have found in South Texas if you leave the line as soon as the light turns green you are likely going to get t-boned about 20' into the intersection... So for here it would be an added safety feature...

Wish the flares where a option. The sr models look great with flareless steel fenders.
