Everyone is receiving their pay, the belt has been awarded in a controlled environment, and no charges were filed according to last night's press conference with Dana White.

Not to say that the NAC won't levy their own sanctions.

My point is this: until now, no one has had to suffer any real consequences for their actions outside of the ring. This is the result, and it's taken a internationally broadcasted fracas to get people to start questioning the behavior of fighters.

 

Source on the pay, because last thing I saw was Kabib's purse was still on hold by NSAC.

 

Genuinely curious as to where you got this info. As every single thing you just said went against everything Dana White said last night in the post fight..

 

The UFC is not, however, and maybe I should have made that clear. If the NSAC is withholding the purse while they conduct their investigation, than than good for them, I guess? For me it's too little too late, and it demonstrates the UFC has punted the problem to a different organization so that the UFC doesn't have to suffer any repercussions for their inaction.

Watch it again then.

 

Lol. Sounds like you just want to voice your personal opinion as fact. I don't know which of the three or four times Dana said "The NAC is withholding Khabibs purse" "The NAC will come down harshly on Khabib as the Governor was there" didn't get through to you. Maybe you should watch it again?

Pay: The NSAC is withholding the pay until their investigation is complete. The UFC isn't. Again, Dana White punting the problem to someone else (which is central to the point I've already made), but at the end of the day, you're correct about the pay being withheld by someone. My mistake.

(-edit- I could be mistaken, but I do not think that as of yet a champion's purse has been completely and permanently forfeited and withheld by the NSAC when it comes to major sporting events like the UFC. Whittled down due to fines and sanctions, yes, but the entire purse permanently forfeited and lost? Not that I'm aware of. )

The belt: 49:12 - Someone watching this can also say that since White never explicitly answered the reporter's question about whether or not Khabib will retain the championship, the question remains open. It's a completely reasonable inference. However, the UFC's rankings as of right now shows that Khabib is the reigning Lightweight Champion.

Criminal charges: 49:55 - Connor refused to press charges so those arrested have been released.

 

In the interview Dana also mentioned that the UFCs pay relies heavily on PPV sales. Dana said regardless of whether or not they withhold Khabibs pay, he wouldn't be getting his UFC 229 check for a while regardless. I'm not sure how you look at it, but not being paid is not being paid to me. Especially not being paid twice.

As far as the belt goes it's up to the NAC. It fully depends on how heavy their hammer is.

Of course Connor isn't going to press charges. Why would he? He understands the game he plays and it would make him look like the biggest pussy in the world if he did. ESPECIALLY after he threw a fucking *dolly through a bus window hurting multiple people??

That fight was such a mauling. Looked like my first BJJ class. At least we got to see Derrick Lewis do his classic 'lose the fight handily until I feel like winning' lol

i think smith is going to take the W. It would've very nice to see that lobov fight. Khabib's cousin\team mate probably would've done the same. Dillon is going to get his time soon. I mean, he was a sore loser against a grappling match with Jake S. He just hasn't gotten his ass handed to in MMA.
