Those Jeep welds are terrifying to look at. That is going to turn into a sh*t show real quick.

BTW who makes the 3rd gen frames now? Hopefully not Dana LOL.

Granted the Toyota frame issue was due to rust (which also kills Jeep frames) and not bad welds. Live outside of the rust-belt and no issues.

More to the point of fixating on one issue with another manufacturer while ignoring 30 of our own manufacturer issues.

They’re all made the same way, generally poorly.

Oh I wouldn't say anyone is ignoring Tacoma issues on TW, just taking a short recess to bash Jeepers.

I say all vehicles are junk. Buy what you want, fix them when they break, wheel them till they die.

Here is a perfect example. I had the best time of my life destroying this Jeep.

They were made to after a string of lawsuits, I doubt Toyota would have done that otherwise but it's still good that they did it nonetheless. Plus it all started with Dana Corp. the company that made the frames, not Toyota...although it was on Toyota to make sure the frames were of acceptable quality before using them.

They are made by Mexican company Metalsa S.A... who bought the frame plants from Dana during Dana's bankruptcy in 2009.

It's generally a good idea to avoid the first couple of years of a new model. The Taco had engine mount and transmission crossmember failures in 2005-2006.
