Need some advice on getting this paint to look better. I've been wet sanding with 1200 grit sandpaper, but still getting rough spots.

Used a orbital sander or did you hand sanded it?

I did the alcohol wash, then sanded with I think 300 grit, then a few coats of primer, then moved up to maybe 500 grit? Now I am using 1200 grit and wet sanding between sprays.

    This is all hand sanding.

Is those spots where the paint is wrinkling? Is that two different types of paint? Would cause separation of the chemicals. Too wet in some spots. Not consistent painting Strokes. Let it dry for 3 hrs. Dry sand those spots blow off. And use blue lable bedliner spray. NOT undercoating.

It might be the uneven spray. I tend to keep the nozzle around 6-8 inches away from the metal. Also if you spend too much time on one particular area when you spray, it tends to wrinkle up with too much paint build up. Light thin layers spray is key to quality even paint.

Thanks, guys. I was going to do line-x but they want too much money. I think it's not consistent spraying, and pretty sure I am more than 6-8 inches away. I am going for a shine. I really liked @GreeGunc bumper when I saw it. It was like powder coat it looked so good.

Use this...it’ll look good and cover up those uneven spots. Just make sure you constantly shake the can.

i am on one acre, and legitimately this machine with its 60” belly mower is really more than needed to get the job done.
But i can mow the whole yard in just over an hour while. watch my neighbors spend 2+ on lesser machines..... and i can cut 5-6 times on one tank of fuel.....(average 6.5hrs on a tank of fuel) unlike the previous Murray and TroyBilt POS i had before this.

I feel like any mower you get needs to be a commercial line, not full commercial but like a mid level.

My dad would go through a lowes/home depot mower every 2-3 years, finally got the courage and now has a 54" hustler with a 24hp Kawasaki motor. Going 3 yrs with not a problem, I paid off my first gen using it when i cut grass as a high school job.
