probably. but the srunners and the 5 lug v6s like barts were still only 3500 because of the suspension only the v6 6 lugs were 5k

ive had no issues towing a box trailer.. i mean you can feel it. and the added wind resistance kills any and all fuel economy.

i can say that i did once tow 7000 lbs with my truck and it didnt seem to mind too much... but the lift probably helped keep it off the bump stops and i only went 15 miles.

v6 is capped at 3,500 pounds because of the 5-lug frame.

i honestly think its just the suspension thats the limiting factor. these frames are pretty stout being boxed mostly..

Maybe I worded that badly. The frame isn’t the limiting factor, it’s more of the 5-lug suspension and drivetrain in general.

the 4x4 tacos could probably safely tow as much as the 1st gen tundras... the frames are similar... if you boxed the rear section of the frame i wouldnt be affraid to tow what tundras could..

    Just suspension.

A v6 pre runner and v6 5lug are the same drive train though the 5lug has like 3.55 or 3.15
