Packing heat? Absolutely not. If you get caught smuggling a weapon into a foreign country you are going to jail and I'd prefer not to spend time in a Mexican jail.

Fun is an understatement, it was amazing in many dimensions. Dangerous? In my opinion and experiences: no.

Far too much is made about the violence in Baja. Baja is very different from mainland Mexico; Baja is safer than many places in the US and honestly, if you are not a jerk you are unlikely to run into any issues.

    Take a look here.

I'm running 275/70R17 BFG K02's. The front edge of my tire fit the wheel well just fine it's the back of the tire that you need to worry about. 285s require pinch welds and cutting your cab mount if you want to get rid of ALL of the rub. You'll also need to take off your mud flaps and trim the bottom corner of the fender flare.

EDIT: I'm running an Icon stage three set at 3 inches.

Goal Zero Yeti 400 (AGM) w/1250W AGM aux battery (7 days of house power to all systems) on anderson extension. Pending: steel front and rear bumper (w/rear swing out), proper sliders, more lights, more skidplates, maybe a winch but traction boards seem to work when needed so far. I’m lazy.
Scenic is subjective. I’m only at Muleshoe Park about 45 minutes from Austin.

But it’s a Friday. And I’m outside. And I got to camp last night.

Works for me. Maybe Moab later.... but this works for today.

Thank you for the great pics and advice. I really like the 275x70xr17 but think I am going to stick with the 265x70xr17 as I am having a heck of a time finding the 275's and my lift is a little bit lower than yours, worried I might really being rubbing on the truck. Great looking truck you have, really looks aggressive but also very clean.
