How to mount a winch on factory bumper?

Does anyone know of a good way to mount a winch an the factory bumper on a first gen taco that would be strong and doesn't look retarded

 

warn trans4mer would probably be your best bet...

 

Maybe a receiver hitch for the front then get a winch plate?

 

receivers are ok as long as you never need to winch at a hard angle...but def. a cheaper alternative than the trans4mer

 

Oh you said winch.... For a second I thought you said wench.

 

I suggest the rear mounted winch. I had my winch mounted on front on my ARB. I decided to take off the ARB and go to a rear mounted winch. And now I can share the winch between my Tacoma and my Jeep. No need to haul the winch on everyday commutes.

Rear mounted winches make more sense if you want to pull yourself out of a mess instead of deeper into it.

The best of both worlds is to put a receiver on front and rear.

 

cbi makes a sweet front hidden hitch
here is my set up


i just ordered the cbi front mount....
curt also makes a front hitch but you will loose some ground clearance....
the cbi one comes out behind your front license plate....no ground clearance lost

 

I don't understand why a receiver mount on the front would be any different.
I had a front receiver mounted winch on my Dodge with long jumper cables so I could use it in the front or rear receiver.
