Just got back from a quick weekend trip to Seattle. Tried out the radar assist cruise and overall really liked it. I think I'd like it to be a little less aggressive on getting back up to speed maybe. It was a bit annoying for it to floor it every time a car changed lanes in front of me so it could get back up to 75 ASAP :burnrubber: when it wasn't *that* far to the next car in line. I haven't actually gotten a 'rountuit' reading the entire owner's manual so am unsure if it shows brake lights when it slows down quickly. I'd hope so because it feels like it hits them pretty good when people cut in and it would be nice for folk behind me to know I'm slowing.

Really enjoyed it in traffic though! Through early rush hour(s) traffic in Portland I think I kept cruise control on almost the whole time. Seemed like it was fine down to around 30 even with the cruise set for 75. Didn't turn it off at all once we hit Washington, including all the way through the busy parts of Olympia to Seattle.

Got about 20 overall according to the trip meter and tank I had to actually fill myself.

Tried the lane change warning thing and think it's pretty good. Wish every car had that, may make people use their blinkers more often

Glad to hear you had a great trip! I’ll be taking my first road trip up to Lalaloch in another week, which reminds me that I should do a more thorough read-up of the manual.

I'm one of those people , I use my blinker on completely empty 2 lane county roads now to avoid getting nagged by my truck!

I just took a trip to the Bandlands area in South Dakota (1700 miles round trip) & felt the same way about the cruise being kinda aggressive but I guess I would prefer that to being poochie. In the fast lane it would really hammer down when they moved back over.

Overall I was pretty happy with it out on the I90 at 80+ mph. I did get new wheels & tires with an alignment right before I left but still did 19-21ish mpg. The trans was gear hunting for the first 2800 miles when new but kinda settled down after that & now at 4700 miles.

Good to get out of the city & on the open road. Got a chance to play around with adaptive CC & get it broke in a lil!

I can’t wait for my first road trip- 8 hr drive to nc from Florida

Will really get a good feel for the truck. I now use my blinker because of the lane detection too (I know I can turn it off) but it also reminds me so I can show off those bad ass @mesojdm turn blinkers :D

I went from a '16 to an 18' and its a completely different driving experience I am seriously doubting that the
tsb they sent out for the shifting is all they did on the 2018+ models. I almost swore off 3rd gens but i've got 14k miles on my 18 and love it! don't know how it compares to an ovtune but it is way better than my 2016 was stock. remember these motors have something like 40 more HP than the 2nd gens its just that shifting they originally came out with that gave the 3rd gens a bad rep.

The 18’s have the upgraded tsb ECU ID. It’s great but the OVtune 1.05 is going to be groundbreaking in 2 weeks. The owner unlocked the ECU and the torque converter so the newest tune update will allow this engine to happily unleash its full potential and still get great mpg

I just picked up a used '18 TRD OffRoad at a Ford Dealer in Dallas this past week. I live in Southern IL and the drive home was awesome. That new adaptive cruise is the $hit! I literally would go a hundred miles or more several times without touching the gas or brake pedals. AND the '18 runs SO MUCH BETTER than the '16 Limited I had before. Like night and day difference. No more searching for gears at the slightest headwind or incline. Very enjoyable 24 hours of driving. Got over 21mpg for the trip, too. Not bad for cruise set on about 78 thru the hills of Missouri and Oklahoma! I literally makes excuses to drive the truck. Wife mentions needing something from the store? I'm like I'll get it...lol.
