    I’m too distracted by the hills that are on fire nearby. The smoke is so bad everywhere I go in the East Bay. It’s almost like a fog.

    We figured out my 3RZ Auto isn’t the best thing to be hauling a trailer around long distances.

    If I had the money, I would buy a Merc Sprinter. Just great all around vans.

    That can only tow 3,500 pounds safely. Same thing as my PreRunner.

    I’m not willing to push it to its limits. The old owner who put the fifth wheel hitch already did that.

    Depends on the one you get, they are not all good, the diesel ones shit out parts and turbos regularly

    Yeah I heard about that Turbo problem. Only certain years, however.

    I’d rather own a Sprinter than a Transit though.

    I feel like towing with a V6 would be a lot different than a 4

    Moving is not the problem, stopping is. I don’t trust the 5-lug all that much seeing how small the brakes are. Even my PreRunner had issues stopping with only an unbraked flatbed. And I have tundra brakes.

    Yeah I wouldn't want a ProMaster, Metris, Sprinter, or Transit. But they get better both reliability and value wise in that order, I would want one of the Nissan NV series vans, if we're talking light vans (although NV does go up to heavy duty, like some Sprinters and Transits) but for heavy van I'd just get an Econoline, can't go wrong there

    I forgot about those little Nissan vans. I’ve never looked into it before. Really the appeal of the Sprinter for me is the Turbodiesel to be perfectly honest with you.

    Only helps so much. The Tacoma was never a truck designed to tow. The 5-lug Tacoma shouldn’t even have a towing capacity.

    Yeah I don't know how I feel about tiny diesels in general, they seem to have issues with long term reliability

    Same can be said about those Transit engines. I just figure a Diesel can be more reliable than a Gas engine in a workhorse IMO.

    How much weight are you talking about here, I can’t think stopping with 2500# in the bed of your truck is any better than stopping with 2500# worth if trailer.

    You have a v6 4x4. It can tow up to 5,000. The v6 5-lug is capped at 3,500.
