I have absolutely no use for a dually.

 

I would love a nice trailer. I just don’t think my 3RZ Auto is the right vehicle for one. I completely agree with you, I’d rather have a trailer than a utility box. Far easier to remove and such.

 

Where the hell am I going to park it? I don’t know what I’d even use it for besides towing a trailer once or twice a year. A Tundra or Sequoia would be enough for the biggest trailer I can ever need.

Also, do you realize how much insuring a goddamn Dually from the 1980’s would be?

 

Go to an auction and try to find a used uhual 4x8 enclosed. That's something you can tow if you just put a tiny trans cooler in too

 

In your opinion, what’s the biggest enclosed trailer I would be capable of hauling long distances with trailer brakes, and a transmission cooler? 4x8 like you said, or can I go bigger?

 

I wouldn't go bigger because they get taller and wind resistance is gonna kill you, and going bigger chances are you won't need the extra space if you organize well but you immediately raise the unloaded weight a lot

Jesus, what are you going to be doing with this trailer? You have a tools to pull horns, and then the rest you can fill with horns, and if you fill that much up, you got a whole gawd damn truck bed to fill.

So 4x8 is it huh? I’ll go take a look and see what I can find. I don’t mind investing in a nice trailer I can use for years to come.

 

You’re forgetting every other vehicle in Texas is indeed a pickup truck.

 

I’m not looking at this from only a horn standpoint, I’d want to use this trailer for other things like hauling.

It would be foolish to spend this much money for something I can only use for one purpose.

 

A 4x8 can haul a lot more than a utility cap.

Notice how the only forward facing portions outside the low pressure zone have curved faces, especially the top. My cruiser is a brick in the wind for sure, but it is low which helps it. With your lift you'll already be at a wind resistance disadvantage above 50MPH, you don't want anything above your cab ever if you can avoid it and if you can pull it off with your fancy new lift below, even, or just slightly above your tailgate is ideal. Which that 4x8 can pull off. U-Hauls used are a great value, they have galvanized frames and bodies and the axles are serviceable with easily sourced bearings and hubs

 

I hate to admit I don’t know the answer to this question.

I’ll take a look at those Uhaul trailers. Where can I buy them? I looked at their asset website and they only seem to sell the box trucks and pickups.
