Yes, they have a 6L Vortec. It drove nice but I couldn't talk myself into it. I don't think I want a half ton diesel, but who knows.

Changed the fuel filter on my tractor this weekend. That was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life
The bleed screw to get the air out of the system apparently didn't do it's job, because after I installed the new filter, bled the air (I thought) and fired the tractor up the injector pump went into full airlock. So then I had to bleed the entire fuel system out, from the tank to the injectors, and one of the injector lines just WOULD. NOT. PURGE. Probably because of how it's bent; there was always an air pocket at the top of the curve. Thought I was going to burn the starter up trying to get it cleaned out. Finally I just got pissed off at it, started it on two cylinders, cranked the line down onto the injector and opened the throttle as far as it'd go while she choked and puked and knocked the rest of the air out of the line. Took me almost 3 hours to do a 5 minute job because the damn air purge screw didn't work correctly.

Definitely needed a new filter, though. The old one was disgusting.

    Good choice.

My perfect sleeping weather is between 8pm and 5am. Damn night shift.

Haha. Yeah. I've got the RTT. We have always been avid campers. But I haven't bailed on one camping trip due to weather since we got it. And we are always comfortable.

We've got a Marmot limelight 4p as well which has been great to us in warmer seasons

I spent my entire youth winter camping the Whites, Greens and A'daks, I ain't scared of some snow camping but fishing can get real chilly on the boat when the water is in the 60's and air temps are in the 40's. Everything is covered in fog so you are perpetually soaked no matter what you are wearing.

Wool FTW...Learned that winter camping in (No I wasn't touched) boy scouts...warm even when damp....I got my wilderness survival badge camping in a lean-to I built in February in the white mountains...Sealed it up tight with dirt and moss and made it through the night without dying :)

We're looking at 80F possible on Wednesday as a tropical front pushes through ahead of what could be a hurricane/leftovers for the weekend...Rains comin'....

Yeah, wool's pretty sweet. I've got some of the new synthetic stuff that's nearly as good, but wool does a much better job of not stinking to high heaven by the end of a weekend winter camping. The synthetic base layers that I have wick sweat like nobody's business, but by day 3 or 4 you've got to approach them from upwind so the smell doesn't knock you out before you can put them on.

So I have tomorrow off and want to take the Tacoma out for my first off road day... nothing too crazy as the trucks 100% stock, just enough to get me out of the city.

I'm on the seacoast of NH-anyone have any good recommendations for a decent scenic day trip in my area?

After I wear some of the wicking clothing a second or 3rd time, I can not seem to get the sweat smell out of them.

Salt bath. Let them soak overnight in a bucket full of water (a couple of tablespoons per gallon) before you toss them in the wash. Works on mine. If they're really stubborn, let it sit for a day or two.

I use Pickling Salt, mostly because it's cheap and I keep it on hand, but I'm sure rock salt would work too. Just make sure it's pure salt without any added de-icer chemicals.

I feel like my would last 200 miles maybe before I started noticing a wobble and then it would slowly progress. Good luck though!

Well so far so good. True test will be when I hit highway tomorrow. But mine were shaking from the get go soon as I hit highway. One of them need an added weight so hopefully that's all it was.

No fabic softener and use regular tide always works for me if it’s extra bad I’ll use some vinegar too! Never have my synthetic stuff stink even after week long snowboarding trips.
