    I’m hijacking my own thread———

    TACOMAS AND FIRE RELIEF
So my local group of Taco guys in the 209 area code decided sitting idle while people’s home went up in smoke wasn’t good enough. These guys organized a full day to take full loads of new and used clothes, tools, towels, wipes, diapers, tables, buckets, extension cords etc directly to the fire victims in Northern California. Some of these guys spent close to a grand of their own money to purchase donations.

This fire moved so fast that at one point it jumped from 8,000 acres to 18,000 in one hour. That’s roughly 8 football fields a minute, and these people of Paradise had no chance. Every generation of Tacoma came along, guys from all walks of life, to try to do just a little bit to help.

We made three stops at shelters to drop off items, with the last being the American Red Cross location in Butte County Fairgrounds who were desperate to take any kind of donation as the rains are coming. This is where we saw a tent city, heart breaking to see those who have lost everything and are sleeping in donated tents, sleeping in donated sleeping bags, and wearing donated clothes. The need is there and gift cards are a great resource as well for those who want to help.

    This is why Tacoma!

First stop in Gridley, local people making it happen for their own. They wanted a photo of us lined up.

Oroville, we pulled our line of Tacomas up and these volunteers were amazing, they unloaded our new stuff like a NASCAR pit crew. The staff also wanted a photo of all the trucks lined up. The skies were smoky

My friend lives on the edge of Chico but his dentist practice is in Paradise. It is one of the few buildings still standing, but now he doesn’t have any patients as 90% of the homes burned. So he evacuated through flames and made it home, only to have 10 minutes later that night to be evacuated from his home as the fire came down 20 miles from the mountain and almost caught the edge of Chico on fire. It stopped about a half mile away on Neal and 99. The fire along 99 where it jumped.

This is my friend’s photo he sent his wife as he was trying to get out after evacuating his patients and staff, he wasn’t sure if he was going to make it. Btw he’s a Tundra guy, but not that one white Tundra :)

My high schoolers came and gladly gave up their Saturday to help others and give some of their own items. I truly believe when we serve each other we become the best humans we are called to be

Because we can outfit them, lift them, lower them, modify them, rig them, wheel them, configure them, tweak them, wrench them, and have a blast in them. I have learned so much in my 8 months of ownership from you guys and it’s enabled me to see just how fun, how capable these trucks are! I’m hitting 26k miles already taking it up and down mountains, across deserts, and across borders! No vehicle is perfect, but with the community input and collective knowledge we can each customize our trucks to get it closer to perfect. This mighty little truck has enabled me to get to places like this where 99% of the population can’t get to nor will ever see. Thanks guys

Nice truck. Nice set up. You’re doing what the Tacoma was made to do. All these threads about the engine complaints, no torque, blah blah. This ain’t no work truck. Squeezing through tight and chunky trails, getting you to places like above. That’s why I bought one as well.

Not to derail, what drew me to Toyota was seeing a Hilux in Iraq get shot to pieces.
Including an AT4 that went through the doors.
Then watching the owner after the battle put four tires and a new battery in it, get in start it and drive off.

Great pics really like my Tacoma. A Tacoma will be my toe-tag truck some day.;)

    BONE Stock.... I Swear!
It is... my lord it has been hard 'window/web page' shopping and not hitting that 'check-out now!' button. I have carts with full King suspensions, overland skid plates and racks, wheel and tires already selected and waiting on that one fatal click... but then there is that truck loan that just needs to go first!

..But in the meantime, there is almost nowhere that this 'little' stock beast doesn't get me. Sure I have to be smarter picking lines, and it's a crazy bounce-monster in the moguls... but...oh the places you will go in your Taco!!!!

The trail was really tight and I didn’t want to chew up a section going over a boulder and so I cheated, 4low with lockers. Felt like a billy goat climbing up

Nice to see a post here where someone isn't bitching about the Tacoma not being comparable to a full size. Looks like a dope trip.

It was and a full size would not have made the turns on the trail in. It’s a mid-size truck. I’ve seen a few Colorado’s gas and diesel, but they barely have their trucks outfitted because they just don’t have the volume or numbers in their community to mod up like we can

This is another reason I traded my F150 in. Out the box, my Taco is so much more capable.

@Papadave418 How's that Yakima working out? I was able to snag one from an REI Garage sale for real cheap. Was just wondering how it holds up to the elements, any leaking?

Is that a matt wrap on the hood? Can you send a front shot? I've been thinking of something similar to reducge scoop galre and priotect the paint a bit better. I like the cut out.
