Pretty sure this was a port installed option for the southeast region he's referring to.

so do you end up needing a PopNLock kit to get it to work with the remote? I remember when i installed my kit on my 17 I tied it into the rear window controls on the passenger front door, which worked out great. Wonder why they didn't just do that from the factory for these....

Correct, SET and GST both had it as a Port installed Option. I think it was also offered nationwide, but not sure. SET has alot of options that really should be nationwide - Rock Lights, Convenience Lights (footwell), etc. There are also "Special Trim Packages" that are unique to the area as well... TSS (Toyota Sport Series, GST), XP (package from SET).

2018, black leather became an option outside of the Pro model.

I'm not sure. If I unlock the doors from inside the truck, the tailgate unlocks. If I just hop out of the truck, with passenger doors locked, the tailgate remains locked, even when I hit the remote button.

that's a good point - that's how mine works, because it takes the second click to unlock the back doors (which then also unlocks the tailgate)

2017 vs 16’s they out a black bezel in the headlights. I know the OR has them. Think the sport might making it the TRD models. Also they changed the fog light bezel.

As already stated the power window was added and they did away with the separate tailgate key. Also they added the PRO model.

I’ll have to think if there was some other ones

Pretty sure the headlights didn't change at all from 16-17 or even 18. The taillights did change though 17-18 with the black from chrome.

Thought I remember seeing the brochure back when they released the 17s and it saying black bezel headlights. Didn’t think the 16’s had that. Pretty sure it was a very minute change as the pros had the blacked out lenses and the Other models have different headlights since they didn’t have the led Drl’s

TRDs all have LEDs in headlights. SR5s don't and still don't, but the housing appears the same. SR's have all chrome headlight housing. TRD PROs have the blacked out housing.

Yeah, was thinking the 16 Trd’s didn’t have that side black bezel. But they do. Seems like the SR5’s have it too just obviously without the LED’s
