I'd swear it did but I couldn't tell you 100%. It was probably the heat from my own ass I felt. If it was in fact unplugged though, maybe the lack of seating is a common problem as evidenced by all these burnt amps.

Try LKQ ( Like Kind Quality)these folks are known Nationally, and advertise in yellow pages almost everywhere. They are a very organized salvage business.

BUT IT DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM! It will happen again and again, until one catches someone on fire from it failing. Like It did with Mercedes.

Historically when part numbers are discontinued especially on newer vehicles ( less than ten years) there is a superseded PN to replace it with an improved version.
At least that has been my experience with GM.

Also a problem that I had started a case file on back in 2009 when the rag spring thing happened to my second Tacoma
In fact, John Deere did the same thing with a retention spring on my tractor. If I had bought the spring on eBay, I would have bought the original one but since I went back through the dealership there was an updated one that looks completely different but yet no recall.

I have the same problem with my 2013 Tacoma. The service department has been less than useful so it is now being escalted to Toyota Canada and the owner of the dealership. I am outside of warranty like many but I am going to see what I can get them to cover.

Ok guys/gals, I have multiple updates.
First things first, Toyota Corperation has been nothing but good with me. They have contacted me several times. During one of the contacts they sent me an email wanting me to call

the national Highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA)

with the number 888 -327-4236 (once you get through there long message process, you'll be pushing #2 to start/state your info to a human)

This is the organization that is responsible for spearheading and starting all recalls. These are the people you need to contact after you have made contact with the Toyota Corperation (800-331-4331) and started a case number with them.

    2nd update

In one of my conversations with Toyota Corperation, they have contacted my local dealer, (you know, the ones that wanted to charge all of us to diagnose the problem)

And they went ahead and waved any fees that would normally be charged to me and wanted me to bring my truck in and the module, so they can examine it and start the process of figuring out where the failure was. Whether it’s the module or an engineering fail above the module. So Friday I have an appointment with my local dealer, which is going to be quite fun because the manager was quite initially snooty with me as she was brand new and had never met me before and was quite put off when I made mention of our availability to almost a quarter million members on Tacomaworld and that I wasn’t the normal Joe walking through the door and not having any extended knowledge of our vehicles. So in closing, I will update you guys Friday with what they find.

But you guys need to call the national Highway traffic bored because the more calls we make to them, the much faster this is going to come to light and a recall be started.

Yeah, they’re paid to be that way!

In update for everybody, after going back to the dealership through the assistance of Toyota Corperation,They are replacing the harness under the seat and the module, and they want to take the old harness and module and that’s what they’re going to start looking at to see what the possible causes is , more than likely in my opinion it’s a defective module obviously made from an outside source so it’s possible that there was a batch of bad modules and the replacement will be a simple fix. So I’m supposed to go in early next week when the new stuff comes in and will keep you guys posted on updates.
How is everybody else coming along with their starting of claims and calls?

I’ve been waiting for others on here to respond but as you can see it’s been a while since I posted and no has responsed . My seat had a brand new wiring harness, heating element and module put in it so they could take my original stuff and take it back to start figuring out what’s going wrong with them. Hopefully others will also keep chasing this and they too will probably have the same results

Update I called Toyota of Canada. They said it’s out warranty and there’s no recall, go ahead and take it to the nearest dealership and have it repaired on my dime.:frusty:
