SoCal is where ALL the damn GFC’s are. I’m surprised you don’t see one or two of them everyday at the local mall.

Seriously though you will have no trouble finding a GFC in Southern California...

Also for what it's worth I assure you the fulfillment target didn't really move 4 months in two days, they may have just updated it. Bottom line the sooner you order the sooner you get it. They are taking $500 deposits now to allow people to get inline before paying in full. Makes for a nice option honestly, I'd say hop in line sooner than later. Also if your in SoCal I'd imagine there are some Vagabond Drifters you could check out if you'd like to compare. GFC is awesome and my personal choice BUT if I were you and had the option to compare others and see it in person I certainly would. None of these were much more than an evolving concept when I purchased mine. I'm glad I picked GFC for the weight and durability but I certainly would have looked at the Drifter and the GFC in person if I had the option.

@inv3ctiv3 -Jim Bob, any chance I could get you to post some pictures and specifics on your back seat fridge install on here? I saw the clips on IG and while I run mine in the bed of the truck I know at least a few people who would be very interested in your install. It looks super tight and clean, not to mention bomb proof. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I forget I’m not talking to locals...

Salt Lake is pretty centrally located so you can get to a lot of cool places with a week off work.

Since someone mentioned mounting a fridge in the cab, I’ll share what I’ve used for 5 years. Not fancy, but it uses the seat hinge hardware and only takes 2 bolts to swap it out for the seat. I run a ratchet strap under the plywood to strap down my arb 50qt fridge.

Edit: found a (messy) pic with the fridge installed.

My fridge platform is a combo of those two ideas. I removed the driver’s side seat (back and bottom) and used an extra set of hinges on the platform to make an easy swap. The hinges were drilled out to accept quick release pins so swapping the platform is fast. The platform has two eyebolts in the front and one in the rear to secure the fridge to and I use another strap from the rear handle to the child seat hook mounted to the cab body. I ran wiring from my second battery and installed a Blue Sea 12v outlet in the side of the rear plastic cubby for easy power.

Sorry, no pictures, I’m a few thousand miles from my truck right now.

I believe it is rated for 400lbs. But I'll double check.

Let me know when you get yours for sure. I can’t wait to see one in person.

I’m planning on keeping things stock for now but if this TRD Pro suspension doesn’t handle the weight well I might swap it out. I’m going to keep everything modular so I can keep the bed empty day to day and load it up differently depending on what trip I’m doing. I like the idea of being up to load bikes in the back of the truck for short biking trips (instead of using a hitch rack) so I don’t want to have a bunch of permanent stuff mounted in the bed.

@gmacmt - any idea when you'll be passing through the bay area next? Been waiting to hear back from orders@gfcengineering.com for a week now - thought I would go direct to the source.

    Order #94, build order #54.

I agree. It was fine with just 1 dog back there, but now with 2 dogs we've relocated the fridge to the bed. I miss the convenience of having it in the cab, but I appreciate the extra room in the cab now that its in the bed.

Pretty sure (?) they are going to shoot for a west coast run between when they get extrusion shipment on the 22nd and Nov 9th. They confirmed via email with me that they're heading to Asheville for Expo East. Mine has been in production since August 27th (maybe earlier) and looks to be affected by the shortage too. Although if yours is complete, maybe they will stop over sooner?...

Mine has been complete for a few weeks. Not sure what gives. I must not have enough follower on instagram. Need that influencer level status.

:rofl:I feel the pain. Mine was pushed back a bunch due to it being a Chevy ("complicated" apparently). Don't forget to include "overland" in your username and tag every company who's parts you installed.
