Ok, I know the way that many of you guys think about body lifts, but honestly, I never go offroad with my truck. After the Maxtrac lift and alignment, my girl is running perfect and straight as an arrow. So, I don't want to fuck with the suspension again, but I was thinking in adding a 1" BL for a total of 5 inches. Does anybody here has a 1" BL and can share his experience with it?

    You shouldn't have any issues.

I don't overland or do trails, so I'm considering it as well. Toytec makes good stuff if you're looking for one.

Can’t wait, it’ll be about 3.5-4” of total lift with my set up. :)

is the internet, thats what they do. i wouldnt go above 1" but its a nice size. gives more room for tires, allowed an extra inch of shock tower for my rear shock setup. gives a nice place to run wires and such above the frame. gaps in bumpers and such are easy to fix.

Ok, I got it! Yes, I'm aware of the rear bumper gap. I have been told that the stock front bumper will stretch and there will be no gap. In your case with that armor is a different scenario.

Yep! I agree with you! Do you have the stock bumper or you have a steel one?

I have had a 1.5" Body Lift installed for over 5 years on my rig, infact I built it with the BL as a part of the build. I do some pretty hardcore off roading and a lot of overlanding. Have had 0 issues and it has actually helped me gain more suspension travel up in the rear as I run a taller shock relocation mount w/ 14" stoke shocks and lett trimming due to tire size. I also had my rear bumber custome fabbed and built to account for the Body Lift as well, most of the builders are open and will work with you and mine fit up perfectly with 0 mods needed to fit!

I installed my sliders shifted up on my frame to account for the gap, made my own gap guards for the front to fill in the space and did some custome shock hoops in the rear with the increased height due to the BL. I have built my rig such that I cannot ever remove mine. Never had a tippy/roll condition on the trail due to the BL, as most would argue, and have truly never had any issues. One thing I did was I machined all my pucks to match each other. I got them and they all had a few thou in height variance, unnecessary but figured why not.

NOTE: If I could do it all over again, I would go weith the 1" over the 1.5" due to the pita it was to install. See my build page but there was a bew mods I had to do to factory abs/trac cabling to be able to run the body lift. Plus I dont think I really gained much with that extra 1/2" but the 1" is worth it imo!

Been wheeling on small body lifts for years. Never an issue. If anything a small body lift keeps center of gravity lower than suspension because the frame, motor and drivetrain don't move up. Just the light weight cab. It helped me clear tires, more up travel, clears more obstacles and easier to work on. Also looks damn good.

I've had a 1" body lift for many years, wheeled all over the place with it and never had an issue. It also makes maintenance on other things so much easier (starter, transmission, routing wires, etc.) I would recommend a quality kit like one from Roger Brown. You can download install instructions that I sent to Roger when we were first seeing what needed to be replaced and all the hardware sizes that would be needed.

Here's his website for ordering, it's a little archaic so it might be easier to call and place an order over the phone, but his website has alot of great info
