2017-2018 TRD Pro Fox Shocks

Who here had theirs rebuilt/ serviced?

Why would they need to be rebuilt as new as they are?

 

I contacted Fox about this because I was considering a pro. They said the maintenance schedule for the TRD Fox shocks is the same as the raptor ones.

so is this not covered in the toyota 2 years service deal? cause on fox shock site it says 10k to check pressure etc etc.

 

A couple Toyota dealerships I’ve talked to said they cannot be rebuilt.

You would think that shocks with a price way above your normal prices. These shouldn’t be disposable and replaced with new ones.

 

I'm the grand scheme of things it's probably cheaper for Toyota to replace than to remove ship out for rebuild/service.

 

idk how they would be cheaper tho... these run 1k+...

 

They are rebuildable through Fox, or other third party folks. I did it on some Raptor shocks last year, for a fraction of the cost ($450). Needed it at about 50K miles on that truck. Basically, if you see some leaking going on, that’ll be about the time for a rebuild

i just took my '17 in for the 50k checkup and they told me both front shocks are leaking, time to be replaced......sounds like from previous posts that's pretty typical?

They quoted me $404 per (front) shock to straight up replace them......might go with that and ask for the old ones back, get them rebuilt and have them saved up for next time at ~100k?

What do you guys think? Now I'm gonna have to dig into all these upgraded suspension threads haha.......

Yes same interval as the Raptors shocks, 50K. Wonder how many Pro owners will have this done let alone know this LOL.

I will be getting mine rebuild next spring. Should have about 40K on them.

 

Yes they are rebuildable. I emailed 2 different people at fox last week and this is what I got .

 

Does the quote include installation or is that extra ?

 

That would be extra along with shipping them to Fox or a authorized Fox service retailer.

Here is a DIY on servicing Raptor shocks. I am just going to let Fox do mine LOL. For around $500 that seems cheap.
