Anyone have any slick ways to mount a jack on a mid travel truck or stock location? Like somewhere under the bed thats low key? I have no bed cage on the new truck and don't want it taking space in the bed. Also not buying a $1,000 steel bumper to mount it lol

There are some solid mounts that go into the inside of the bed. You have to drill holes but they look to be extremely secure and sit above the wheel well so they don’t take much space.

    Something like this.

Is it just DMZ that sells bed cages currently? Anyone sell a weld together?

I just have a floor jack, but I have a short bed and haul boards/dog/sleep back there occasionally so don't want to use up any more bed space if possible.

Ive seen some clean set ups under the bed but only when there is a boxed cross member so I wouldnt be able to do that. Something stealth around the spare tire under the bed would be cool.

I’ve seen a mount that bolts to the factory bed rails for a Pro eagle jack. That jack is heavy and I don’t think that bed rail is strong enough to support it though.

Best way unless you can fab, is to just drill it straight to the bed.

My bad, I read “hi lift” for some reason or I assumed since you weren’t using the factory jack.

A floor jack would take a fair amount of room up so a stealth mount would be cool. My concern is access to it when needed. A heavy item under the bed would not be cool to remove or mount unless you have a nice hoisting system of some type. Trying to move a heavy item in an awkward place doesn’t sound fun at all.

Looks like @Gunshot-6A has a HF 1.5 ton jack on the wheel well of his tuck, seems to fit up there nicely.

I’m probably going to do something like this but with dmz’s skids and mounts to make it more secure for LT driving

Are these rubber bumpers necessary if you have hydro bumps setup?
I see some people using them and others not. That’s a coil over by the way

Necessary, no, but they're only for the last 1/2" of travel which is about where you should set your bump stops to, so it's a nice backup. I'd leave them on

Cycle and check is the only way to truly see. On my truck the new shocks didnt come with them i just set them under 3/8” from botting out . So i cant use them aways they are like 1/2”-5/8” thick.

So I’m not trying to throw fuel on this extinguished fire, but seeing your comment made me think and I never got to asking this question.

If you remove this lower support bracket as you mentioned to gain the clearance, what skids do you use? My IFS skid bolts to that bracket.

I know this will probably turn out to be a “go fast desert truck won’t need an IFS skid and therefore you don’t have that concern” but I feel like this would be useful and unique to incorporate into a truck that may see more rocks and need IFS protection of some sort.
