Someone should create a battery disconnect switch that disconnects for 60 seconds every time you shut off the truck. Retail price is $250 with special of $150 for TW.

I’ll accept 50% of the profits for my excellent idea. Someone go make it and make tw happy again

Drove from the Deschutes River (Maupin) back home over Mt Hood. Not bad with lift, bigger tires, and armor. The Pic is taken at about half tank of gas left. Tuned on 1.04

You might want to elaborate on who you want to elaborate. There’s about 6 simultaneous conversations going on

Mat's quote about how messed up this ECU programming from Toyota is - highly likely the "learning" issue some of us are experiencing is real and sleeping somewhere in the ECU and not the Tune.

So if doing a full re-flash is "bad", would the battery disconnect be a better alternative? All of this is new to me, so my head is still spinning from everything I've been trying to read and learn. I think I read that disconnecting the battery clears memory other than the stuff related to the flash, but can't remember the terms people used

    Flash
    Idle for 10 minutes
    Drive it.
    Drive it some more.
    Keep driving

Repeat when a new revision comes out

Anything else is crazy and unnecessary

Don't reflash. simply disconnect the negative battery connection for 15 - 20 minutes. reconnect. drive on as usual. see post 26074.

Seems to be the consensus. Idk. I'm just waiting for 1.05.

Now I know you may have said this half in jest, and its been recommended that we not continually reset/re-flash...But a little 555 timer, (with an independent 9v source), set for a "1 shot", triggering a relay could theoretically do just this. Just have find a way to keep it from continually cycling after it reconnects the battery, (since the vehicle will still be off). Nice academic exercise if nothing else.

I'll have to try that battery trick next time. It's very noticeable especially right off the line in 1st , feels like it pulls harder and power curve is smoother. No more power band feel at 4K rpm lol it's been almost 6 months since my last flash FYI

Being from/in Alaska, we should be used to having to wait, but it doesn't seem to be helping in this case... lol
