There must be somebody that has taken the carpet out of both models for soundproofing.

Do what Dexter and I do: buy the big roll of 6mil polyethylene sheet and a roll of gorilla tape at Lowes.

Cover everything. Field dress a deer in there...whatever.

Throw it away when you're done. Everything stays brand new looking.

Why not do what the Jeep people do. Rip it out and bed-line it.

I have my truck three years and have been using the rubber floor mats since day one. I would still prefer a complete vinyl floor like was available in the prior years.

I am surprised that no one has made one.

Here in your case, I would like to suggest you for having puzzle mats as a floor in the truck. If you still want carpet floor in your truck then, before installing any type of carpets make sure you know about the usage of all types of carpets. carpets varries not only in colors, but also in manufactures. Try to take some help from the carpet or flooring installers like carpet installers Sacramento and get some of the helpful hints from them.

Couldn’t you just pull the existing carpet out and actually use it as a template to cut rubber mat or whatever material you want to use?

With my level of skill??? Oh sir, you assume talent where little exists...

But also I looked into it. it isn't just flat, there is depth to the carpet to cover and protect the underneath wires. I thought of Rhinoliner, but too permanent. None of them look as good as the older tacoma or tundra vinyl floor.

So what. Thought we were talking about functionality. That is a viable solution, which can be used in congruence of another cover over it.

Step 1 - remove stock carpet
Step 2 - have it sprayed with bedliner of your choice
    Step 3 - reinstall

I agree! Get good all-weather rubber floor mats and call it a day.

I had a spill on my carpet of strawberry drink, I couldn't stand the smell pulled it out and out a whole new one. After spending $400 I realized I could have just pulled the old one wash it and let it dry and out it back on. Dealer didn't allow me to return the new one so had no choice but install the new one now I have an extra carpet assembly for a third gen if anyone is interested, it's nearly new my truck only had 7k at the time

My old dodge had vinyl floors. It was great for going to the beach, but it showed wear a lot faster than carpet would have. Even with mats it did not look good after 2 years of ownership.

I use floor liners in the Taco. And as dirty and muddy as I get, I've never had it escape the liner. If people are still having problems that a husky or weathertech can't fix, maybe they need to take a hard look at their habits. :D

I agree my rubber mats captures 99% of dirt water mud sand.but my daughter spilled a huge amount of juice in the back I have to choice but to wrap it out and replace the insulation underneath. I know a bit of an overkill but needed to be done
