    Hello,

I just received my bilsteins in the mail and started to install them and the aal today when I noticed some frame rust with a pretty big hole. Do you think this rust would result in a warranty?

It's an 02 so I heard they're replacing the frames on these trucks, has anyone gotten a frame replacement on this year? And I'm wondering if I should bother getting the frame replaced or wait and see if they do a buy back?

Make an appointment at your dealer for a frame inspection. It looks like your getting a new frame for free.

The only thing I'm concerned about is that I purchased the truck in the states and imported it to Canada. Think this would matter?

I dont think that would matter. I cant hurt to have them look at it. Just dont say anything about importing it.

Doesn't help that my local dealer is a total prick, I asked about installing a day time running light module (required in Canada) and he told me to go back to the states where I got it.

Ya I just laughed at him and told them if they were competitive then people wouldn't have to go elsewhere. I bought it for 11K with 75000 on it, TRD 4x4. The same truck here they wanted 19K.

I was wondering the same thing. I think I'll just take it to one of the toyota dealers in a neighboring city.

New York, I'm taking it in next Monday for an inspection. Does anyone know if I should be taking my lift out before I bring it in? I don't want to give them any excuses to not warranty it.

I am pretty sure NY qualifies for the recall...someone who has there recall notice can chime in. I am in CA and I don't qualify so I threw mine out.

i think some people are mistaken. all of North America is eligible for the 'recall'. some states (and canada) have to have an inspection done before october 2010. if they fail at that point they replace if the pass they coat the inside of the frame with some sort of an anti-oxidant.
the other states i suppose have very little issue with rust so they have no need to have inspections or any special coatings applied for the 15 year extended frame warranty to be in effect.
