Ive been asking them if they are going to be at expo east for a LONG time with no responses. Good to know they will be there. I can't justify spending that money without seeing it in person. Can't wait to see it, my wallet however....

Yes - or they can ship it I don't mind installing it myself. I was going to pick it up, and scheduled vacation time back at labor day - after confirming several times my build was on track to be ready before then. Then 4 days before I was going to leave they said it's not going to be ready.

I had already lined up someone to take care of my pets, and set things up at work to be gone for the week so I took the time off. Difficult to get time off between now and turkey day.

Generous offer - but I have no posts - only signed up to watch GFC's videos.

What are the rough overall bed dimensions and height of cab above bed rail?

(asking for a 2.8 duramax currious friend ;))

That sounds like a great trip.
Now that the extrusions aren't going to be in shop till Oct. 22, I've decided to definitely go for the delivery. It will take weeks before things get back on track and it could be deep into November before its sorted out.

ZR2 as well. The owner of that one messaged me actually and helped him out on wiring stuff cause it's slightly different. And yes his had been done and delivered but that was the excuse I was quoted when prying (l.....o.....l); need more followers too I guess

Dimensions are honestly very similar to 3rd gens. 55" interior width and 59.5" interior length (I have a short bed btw). 18.5" from bed cap to roof line. 1.25" in height for antenna W/O DILDO; and about 2.5" tall with stubby jr. Grand total of 21-22" from bed cap to top of antenna (w/ stubby jr.). Believe Graeme quoted me 3-5" above roof line, so it should be similar to a taco with bed caps in overall height. Also, for chevy's you need to get these to make the bed cap sealable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076Z6D3YJ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=A367LPTIMZNI10&psc=1
I'll have mine around veterans day as I'll be meeting up for a parking lot install probably in Indiana or Ohio while they are on the way with more info then probably.

Interesting. Graeme told me he’d be at East when he was here delivering about a month ago. I didn’t know anyone was wondering. I believe @Quadabaum knew too because he was trying to get his camper loaded for the ride to NC.

I mentioned in this thread a few times that my GFC will be at East at the Backroadventures booth if anyone wants to check it out. So there will be GFC’s there to see for sure...

Sounds like a fun trip! They film a ton of Longmire here in NM. I have come across the film crews in various location on my motorcycle and truck excursions. Have fun!

Just searched through their IG page... nada, and their website didn’t show anything either.

    Maybe no one wants one?

To be completely honest i do not see the appeal of the GFC as a stand alone RTT. It’s fairly light and low profile yes, but what else does it do better? It’s smaller than almost every other RTT made. Even the Autohome and Baroud tents lift in BOTH sides... I LOVE the GFC concept on a truck but as far as a tent I would not opt for it over a comparably priced alternative. The wedge style to me is only awesome because you have the removable floor below it. Though I might be missing something obvious. I just don’t see any appeal personally.

If I were building a 4runner or the like, the #1 consideration for me as someone who really wheels their rig would be CG. Having the thinnest and lightest RTT as possible on the roof would be really beneficial.

Looks like the base model James Baroud is 10# more and twice as thick and the same price.

I too am curious and I went to add one to my "cart" and it let me...not sure what that means as they may not have updated to sold out yet. I'm kinda surprised if they didn't. The first time I saw a regular RTT I thought "no way. Too big and too bulky. I will stick to sleeping in the bed." And if I was really big into wheeling I wouldn't want to feel so top heavy with those other RTTs sticking up so high up off an SUV in my opinion. That's why I think the GFC RTT would be a great option

It's all a trade off and everyone has different ideas on what is important.

Camping to me is something you do after a good day of wheeling. I'll gladly take the lack of being able to store bedding, or a super comfortable thick mattress, in order to save weight and height.

The website says sold out. As for reasons why they haven't posted? It doesn't surprise me that they built up a bunch of hype, sell a bunch, then leave everyone hanging.

They posted on instagram saying they sold out right when I posted. Whoops :)

    The short answer is 500lbs.

I met Wiley at Overland Expo West and asked this question. He said 500lbs at the center was tested. It’s likely higher as they did not stress test to failure. Also, he mentioned that the weight capacity along the edges would be higher.

    Rust, lots of rust

The third quote is the best way to explain the appeal of the GFC RTT. Height and weight on a used and wheeled vehicle.

I may be driving this, but what do I know..E0DEC544-71ED-4641-B067-FCCB31699FA3.jpg

Looks good man... Like you’re racing the kiddos to soccer practice LMAO. :boink: I still don’t see any appeal. I do however think my GFC is the best thing since sliced bread. I’m assuming I’ll get to see one or two of the tents at ExpoEast maybe I’ll change my mind. It’s certainly LOW profile compared to anything else... of course you could throw a gazelle tent in the back of your T4R and be even lower and lighter... lol. Life’s a compromise. Either way no question GFC is making one of if not the finest product in the catogory.

Not sure how you got one before the other 300 people that ordered though...

That was my original point about the whole ordeal earlier. Better get those followers :bananadead:. Although I believe he installed the long travel on Wiley’s taco...(nepotism).
