Maybe its something with your phone? Ive never had a problem with my QI charging in my 16' and I use it everyday, works great for me with my phone inside a pelican case too.

Do you have a metal plate In it for magnetic car holders or any metal? Mine does that when I forget to take the metal plate out.

I've got it, but have never used it. I'm old school with a standard charging cable.

I have a iPhone XS Max and with a Supcase Beetle, it wont get close enough to the front to charge. The qi charger in my wifes NX is to small to fit my phone. Both are totally useless. However at home, i have a qi charging pad and it works perfectly fine with my Supcase Beetle Pro case on.

Works fine with my Galaxy S9 Plus and minimal case. Pretty effortless actually, just not too comfortable with how hot it's getting the phone. Even after reaching full charge the phone keeps on cooking, as hot, or hotter than a fast charger.

Yeah, to me it's more for an emergency that you need to charge and don't have a cable to plug in the phone. I've used it a few times and it takes forever to charge, loses connection to the phone and the phone gets super hot (I have an S9 with a minimal case). I just plug the phone in when i need to charge it.

Good thread: mine works as designed. Naturally an inductive charger is less efficient than a conductive cable. Both the Qi spec and the manuals explain the heat protection and status indicators as well as how to center the phone’s receiver as close to center of the pads coil. With a little practice you will find the sweet spot.

For my X with a very thin leather case that spot is gently butted against the fore edge slightly left of center while facing the top of phone left. If either the phone or the pad is too hot it pauses charging as well as miss connecting. Theoretically changing a battery more slowly is better for the battery. I have found it very convenient to use, no more cable clutter and worth the 15 minutes research and testing time it took to learn how to use it.

Galaxy S7 with otterbox slim case works fine. Does get hot but that is common with all wireless charging. I like it!

I'm too much of a cheap ass to own a phone with the capability, but my buddies phone got hot and took forever to charge like everyone else said.

I wish they had put a 12v or USB port in the rear cab instead of that wireless maxipad.

I added my own USB ports in the rear of the truck, but I also think the charging pad works fine.

Mine just holds my sunglasses. It wont charge through a case and I'm not one of those people that go around care free without a case on their phone.

Used the charging pad the day I bought the truck. Got home from the dealer and my phone (Galaxy S9+ with case) charged fine but was too hot for my liking. Installed a Hondo dash mount and have used that with a USB cable since.

For the people having issues charging with the wireless mat.

Generally if you have a thicker case (otterbox style) it wont be close enough to charge. If you have a metal plate for a magnetic mount it will block the charger too.

I installed a wireless charger into my phone, but I cut the inner part of my case to reduce thickness. After cutting the phone charges great, I can go from 60% to 90% in about 20-30 minutes of my commute.

My charging mat works fine. It's not the fastest charge but it works great and I don't have to use a cable so I'm good.

Manual says the green light may not illuminate if you have case on your phone. Oh and mine charges right through my case no problem.

My Samsung charges just fine in its jelly case, I've used it almost every day for the last 2 years.
