ROCKtober Therapy - THE Moab Gathering

With a week & 1/2 left to go I suppose I should ask if this is at the same place as last year?

 

I’ll be there with my brother, solo rig as well, and 1st time to Moab. Still researching what to do.

Assuming you're talking the behind the rocks camp ground then yes I'm actually going to be camping there this year .
Last year was kinda a just find a spot so I ended up camping at Ken's lake just out of convenience .

 

Anyone have a tentative trail itinerary? Gonna be climbing and mtn biking this year but wanted a couple trail days. Looking for something moderately easy so the gf can learn what’s going on.

Looking for moderately easy trails like cane creek, and something like cliff hanger, or poison spider back to the crack and turn around or...

i figured there's a grocery store down there. i just grabbed a few things out of the freezer just cuz it needs used up and might as well do it in moab.

 

we will be running cliff hanger and Kane this year just don't know what days. maybe we can work that out when you get there. as far as running poison to the crack and back thats a negative. if im going to spend that much time on the trial i would much rather run rusty nail and then run golden spike and poison backwards.

 

Maybe I meant golden spike lol.
But ya! Let’s figure out cliff hanger and kane and do it!!!

 

i was just saying to run poison spider and golden spike then run them both backwards to get out instead of just running gold bar rim to exit is a very long day and if i was going to have a long day on trail like that i would much rather run Rusty nail that dumps you out just after the golden crack and then run those first two trails backwards to leave.

 

I don’t really have a trail list, but I’d be up for something like that. I didn’t hit any of those last year.

 

I think we will camp at the dunes this year too.

Especially, if there’s a spot a little way from the party so I can actually sleep a little.

there is no reservations back here, so there may be other parties camping as well... don't assume we're all in the same party. if they have a toyota, there's a good chance they're with us tho.

if you are camping near someone not in our party, please be respectful of their space.

there are numbered sites back there, but the site boundaries are very blurred. use your best judgement.

DO NOT DRIVE OVER VEGETATION! Use existing routes and camp sites. Typically, if there's a fire ring, it's a campsite

 

Yeah but when do the puppies arrive?

 

We have been getting a bunch of rain & snow and cold temps in SW CO, but the forecast for Moab currently says we can expect clear skies, highs of 70-79 and lows of 40s overnight. Perfect. Fingers crossed it stays that way. The trails should hopefully be dry by then. Kane's creek may have some water in it for a change.

 

Why do i feel like this was directed at me.
