I was attempting to change my lights on my 2018 tacoma but when i went to turn my truck on it wouldn't turn the brakes on when i push the brake. The car will not turn on either, when i push the push start but it wouldn't start. The screen tells me that the brake override malfunction And to see my dealer. Any ideas what i can do?

Which lights were you changing? Can you just go back to the OEM bulb and see if it fixes the issue?

I already did and nothing. I push the brake and no light turns on. When i hit my alarm to lock the truck the lights work though so i think its something to do with the break pedal, the ecu or something on those lines

Have you tried resetting removing the neg battery cables for a min? Sounds like something is confused.

Had a Ram that did something similar due to the negative bat. terminal being too loose. Try loosening both positive and negative terminals and then tighten them back down pretty snug. Hope you find a fix!

Apparently he's leaving the most important part out!
Why bother start a thread for help if you can't provide all the details for people to help you!
So you posted for help today yet the the tow truck took it last night?

I’m always leery about folks whose first thread is something catastrophic happening to their trucks and don’t answer detail questions....just sayn
