    Ok, many years ago my wife and I found an old telephone book at an estate sale, like 1939.

    We looked to see if we could find any relatives- no one in my family had a phone at that time, but my wife's grandparents were there- it's still the same number now- they passed but my mother in law lives there.

    My grandma would give me a note and some money and send me to the deli (at the time I couldn’t hardly read). The note was to be given to the person at the cash register at the deli. I was told I could have the change. The note was for cigarettes lol
    Too this day I dont smoke. But I sure do miss the orange crush in a bottle, and the book of matches that they would give a kid :D
