Yep, gotta send in your ECU ID/Calibration ID stuff! Then you get the tune. Mint sent me and email and I thought it was from Mat.. Ugh

Looks like I got a couple more days ahead of me then...

 

I am excited based on reviews, but really have an eye on a 2003 tundra.

The warranty on the stock diffs expires after the 3yr/36k for most folks, it did for me. I replaced mine after 36k and now have a 5 year warranty from ECGS on the diffs.

 

It's 5 hours away or I would lmao
I really am conflicted. I just want my tune so I can then make my choice.

 

Did they ever put a manual trans in a V8 1st gen Tundra?

If so,

 

I had a 2006 XSP auto with a V8. My wife still says that was her favorite of all the vehicles I've ever owned. The disappearing rear window was awesome. It was like a shaded convertible with all the windows down. Great for back and forth trips to the lake towing a boat.

 

People aren't expecting this V6 truck to act like a V8 are they?

 

I know I am.

 

I expect it to have the same throttle characteristics, but not the torque.
I really think this v6 can perform like that old 4.7 if they didn't detune it and crap that they have done(better gear spacing and everything else should support this engine more).
The only reason the 4.7 was so great was due to the way everything worked together. It was a dog down low for a v8, but still enjoyable to drive since it didn't shift at 1500rpm.

I should note that you can literally feel thing thing hold itself back..cutting throttle and crap..it is obnoxious.

It is nice to be able to take it in for the little things that go wrong over time. I usually get the extended warranties on cars but opted not to this time. It is a certified preowned vehicle so there is an extended powertrain warranty for that.
