Just got my tune files! Now I have to decide whether I am just gonna wait for 1.05 or load 1.04

Might as well try 1.04 so you can compare when 1.05 comes

I wish that were the case, but that is not going to happen. The 4.7 was designed from the outset to be a low-reving motor emphasizing torque over HP.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_UZ_engine#2UZ-FE

"The 2UZ-FE was a 4.7 L (4,663 cc or 284.6 cu in) version built in Tahara, Aichi, Japan and at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama. Unlike its other UZ counterparts, this version uses a cast iron block to increase durability, as it was designed for low-revving, high-torque pickup and SUV applications."

The 4.7 with VVTi (2005-6) was really nice as it added some steam up top.

The 3.5 in the Tacoma is a sporty car motor they are trying to make work in a truck...and then they saddled it with double overdrives...it just makes no sense to put double overdrives on a motor designed to rev to make power.

I would have loved to see Toyota put the 1UR-FE motor (4.6) in the Tacoma...that would have been the shit...great power and not despicable mileage...but it would have stolen too many Tundra sales... :(

Maybe if they offered the 4.6 in the Pro it would be more of a performance package/unique. Oh and... keep the M/T option with that engine. Oh yeah.

You would think by the way some people are complaining about low rpm performance, that some how you missed the diesel option.

I read on the interwebz that the diesel option is definitely going to happen as an option in 2017
    And 2018
    And 2019

Phase 2 complete. Waiting on phase 3. Ya know.. I'm a software engineer. I wonder if @OVTune would consider allowing me to help him automate this process. It can definitely be done.

Alright, after flashing and a quick spin around the block. WOW that is awesome!! Throttle is how it should have been. I feel it performs similar to that old tundra engine--the gear is about right to be similar. It is so linear.

Did you let it idle for 10 minutes? Because man... that was a fast turnaround.

Put it on the list, right under the diesel engine

All depends on how you drive it! For Shits and Giggles i drove into work Sunday night its a 22 mile trip one way. I set the cruise control at 60 mph and i got 20.2 mpg's i was completely blown away! My normal speed is around 70-75 on that same trip and at those speeds i am getting 14.4 -15 mpgs. I have 4.88's ,OVtune 1.03 91oc, with 285/75/17's Cooper ST MAXX (34") Full steal skids,TRD intake,TRD exhaust and lots little goodies added. This truck still got 20+ miles per gallon if you dont mind driving at a snails pace i think i pissed off a few folks driving that slow!

I think 1.04R M/T would be for 04A71 ECU (and also 04B13 for 16/17)... In other words, it's for TSB updated trucks until 1.05 comes out..
