I remember working at a grocery store where we had to know prices and actually make change without a machine doing it.

That song brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it,and it still does today . I lost my grandparents and parents way to early. Prine is one of my favorite singer-songwriters, that guy can make me cry and laugh all in one song.

I remember my mother telling me when she was in grade school she would try and write with left hand. They tied her arm to the desk and forced her to use her right hand. It worked, I can’t even pick my nose with my left hand.

There's a local park in my town....quite a large park actually....with a fair amount of paved areas to drive and park on. One the lots is full of those pull tabs. Decades old and mushed flat into the asphalt.

    Kinda cool really

I remember steel beer cans without a pull top... wasn't drinking them at the time, but I remember seeing relatives using the can opener- large triangle for drinking side, smaller triangle for ventalation at the opposite side.

Detroit use to have electric buses attached to overhead wires. GM put a stop to that nonsense. “What’s good for GM, is good for America “ , that was the mantra. Almost everyone worked for the “Big Three “. My uncle worked for GM, they paid him to go to school and become an engineer. He got to drive a brand new car every month, with gas card. All he had to was write a report on the quality , this went on for thirty years.

Yep. Also, pop tops, or push tops... something like that.

My brother started a beer can collection when we were kids. I think he still has it. Several hundred different kinds. My dad loved it because when any new brand came out, he had to buy it and drink 5 and leave my brother 1 full one. Or at least try. We found a couple of these at a dump when I was a kid.20181009_173633.jpg

Hush your mouth, young whippersnapper, and get the hell off my lawn. Some of us are old enough to remember when straws were made of paper! Before all your newfangled plastic.
