My ABS light is on I took it to the shop turns out I need a new ABS control module. Looking at a $800 fix, at this point I just need the light off so I can get a safety check and repair it later. Is there a fuse I can pull to kill the abs/light? Can I bypass the ABS? Can I do this repair myself/has someone made a tutorial (did a search still looking thru results). Really would appreciate some insight/input.

All this started from me jumping someone in a remote 4x4 location... so that was the most expensive jump ever, fml.

Pull out the dash cluster and put a piece of electrical tape over the LED. Works like a charm.

And- should I have posted this in a different section? If so I’m sorry, I’m all stressed.

Hahaha yes, but don’t worry about it. And I was completely serious about covering the led with tape. I did that with the tpms light in my Subaru.

Damn yea noticed it was in suspension I meant to post to 2nd gen but I got all these tabs open and my thread landed here, ugh.

If all else fails I’ll keep the black tape in mind :D . but I probably still gotta fix it if no other options (or not a wise option to bypass) so any tutorials or wisdom welcome

*if anyone has a ABS control module for a 2nd gen 4x4 sr5 lmk.

Browsing this issue seems the abs needs to come from a donor of the same model (sr5 vs Trd off road/sport) so that is my next problem finding the correct part/donor.

Definitely agreed that you should fix it one way or another! was just talking about taping it to pass inspection and buy yourself some time. Anywho, good luck on the hunt.

No worries I knew that’s what you meant. Trust me if this repair drags out I may sresort to that to avoid a ticket that’ll only add to cost of everything.

Update: Managed to find the part I needed (ABS module) and my local shops gonna do the repair for $400 total. I was considering doing it myself but I still need the shop to clear the codes (abs and brake light on), figure I let them do it that way if anything else acts up w my ABS they can deal.
