I didn't know what it was, but assumed exhaust, went to a shop and he took it around the block and instantly knew what it was. Shouldn't apply to a magnaflow though with their construction from my understanding

I’ll probably try to pinpoint the location a little more this weekend when I go home but it’s gonna be pretty tough since I can’t replicate it while I’m neutral.

Yeah I tried to find mine before taking it in and couldn't, being the muffler it was worst at about those RPMS when engine braking. But again shouldn't apply to a magnaflow

Bingo! Driveline shop explained my 2k RPM rattle to me as so: When you lift a tuck, and change the angle of the driveshaft, sometimes it won't cause any issues. Other times, it does. It wont vibrate all the time, just under a very specific condition. Mine is 2k RPM in 4th or 5th gear, and even then its hard to force it to vibrate. I'm installing 3 degree axle shims to fix this hopefully. Carrier bearing drops only "fix" the issue by changing the angle out of the transmission, not a good fix in my book.

Or it could be an exhaust heatshield issue. :notsure:

Wheels and tires could be out of balance

Tire weight/balance issue? Simplest fix and I've had them where it's only certain speeds that you feel it

Mine seems to be more consistent since it happens at a pretty wide range of rpms and all gears, whether I am accelerating or engine braking. Also, it just started happening a month or so ago and I've been lifted for nearly 2 years now.

I've had exhaust connections come loose and the flange bolts rattle violently, especially letting off the gas at 3000rpm and above

Also, are there any bed covers available for first gens because whenever I see discussion about them, it's always for second and third gens. I wouldn't mind having some extra dry storage since I only have an extended cab.

Decided to paint the rims I got for the Z, going gold. Gotta keep busy since I can't put the engine together just yet

Lol I just picked out some sparkly gold enamel from VatoZone. It looks decent. Almost done priming the first wheel. Gonna do one a day cause it's tedious
