Yeah, they might. Dad was Army, don't remember anymore what group. They went into South Italy in 1944. Made his way to Berlin by the end. Would never talk much about it. Only would share two stories - about "capturing the Italian Fire Chief", and running around Berlin in a Jeep trying to recover art. Mom was a secretary at Dow, and that is exactly how she would describe it. They never did "anything" by their accounts. I think we know better. They came out of the depression, and went to war. Nuff said. There isn't a salute icon for me to use....
