I did. At first I’d say it was about 75% better. I’d now say less than 50% better. It did change the speeds at which I hear it now. I hear it at 58-60 now whereas before it was 53-57. It’s really annoying but maybe some more aggressive tires will help drown it out.

Those who have had the TSB 0058 done, did the dealer put the sticker on the hood after the update like the TSB says to do? My dealer says they did the update today and the paperwork references it and the truck drives much better but they didn’t put the stick under the hood stating it’s had the update...

Very few people got stickers. Definitely check the calibration ID with a scan tool.

How about putting sound deadening behind the rear seats and floor?

That might help a little bit but it’s a harmonic resonance throughout the whole frame. If anything would help it would be those aftermarket heavy duty body mount bushings.

FYI- new trucks are coming with the sound deadener already installed (said my dealership owner).

Done it and it helps a tiny bit, but not a ton. Then again my howl before I installed the TSB myself was very very loud. 35+ on the HD radio from 61-53. Post TSB the range shortened to 61-58 very loud and still there some down to 53.

I added lots of foam in the c pillars, foam where the cab bolts come into the cab, and sound deadener from the storage compartments to up the back wall. Some days I can barely hear it. Other days it’s like none of it helped to shut it up ha I think temperature, moisture, etc come into play on how loud the howl will be that day.

I went to City Toyota up in Colma and they took care of me. Of course I did purchase from them.

They did the TSB but I’m down to try anything, Jay. Like I said, I love the truck, but I admit I’d love it more if it didn’t do this. But, there’s still not another truck I’d take over it.

I don’t. There was another thread discussing them. I can’t remember if they had a version for the 3rd gen available yet. Guys said they worked well on the 2nd gens.

No sticker, but did confirm calibration update before and after with a scan tool.
