2018 TRD PRO Grille w/ TSS-P Radar Info/DIY

I don't see anywhere on their website to order parts. Did you email them? When I called they stated they need registration not VIN to verify...so maybe they learned a lesson from your order

 

Anyone annoyed by the oem grille garnish glare let me know, just installed and the Xpel Stealth matte wrap look is glare free.
Ordered 24” by 24” minus one cut out for garnish, let me know

 

Has anyone had any issue with rain/snow causing a sensor error (with the OEM garnish)? Im wondering if even PROs get this error when it rains or snows...I dont see how it can be avoided when the garnish gets dirty.

 

I tossed a piece of plexus glass that I covered with matte wrap vinyl behind the "garnish" piece on my 18 sport.

Had the code thrown numerous random times. Took to dealer for 1K checkup. hasn't done it since.. Wondering if they maybe calibrated or reset the system?

So... not going to lie, I didn't read all 50+ pages here. But I did read long enough to notice a theme of "lack of availability for PT228-35180" And I know I couldn't find 80's on ebay, or Amazon...
IF anyone is still searching, I found and purchased mine in about 5 minutes once I expanded my search... without VIN or issue. And a confirmation email. Best of luck to all!

 

Just received mine yesterday from my local dealer, not the one I purchased my truck from. Was very friendly with the gentleman in parts and he ordered it for me. Toyota was asking for a vin in which he provided them without me having to come up with one. Took about 3 days from ordering to receiving it.

If you're looking for OEM, I would suggest trying my route or just supply the dealer with a VIN from a pro thats currently for sale. I don't see a reason to buy the knock off if the OEM is only 40 bucks more.

Just a quick update. Chatted with a rep from TPD yesterday said all parts were in stock. Later I did get an email stating that "one of the parts I ordered required A VIN" of course the email didn't ask for MY VIN, so after a quick search online I followed the steps of those who were here before me and provided them with a VIN. And I have heard nothing since. And I have decided that no news is good news... at least for now.

 

Got my grill off Ebay for 63.00, and I J&b weld the letters on. Waiting on the radar piece from Ebay to get shipped out. Going to still keep the original grill just in case anything happens.

 

Got my grille from @FreshMexicanTaco the other day...Ordered an OEM garnish off eBay. Literally zero issues with installation or sensors. I almost feel like my lane departure is less sensitive, but that could be me over analyzing it. Everything works as expected! Thanks to everyone who helped troubleshoot in the early stages of this mod.

I didn't hate my stock black chrome OR grille, but this swap is definitely worth it.

No VIN required. I assume the seller is a Toyo dealer who DGAF. I like people who DGAF when it comes to stupid rules.

 

I just got an update from TPD stating all my parts are in and should ship out tomorrow with a tracking number! (fingers crossed)

 

Does anyone know the Toyota part number for the plastic clips that hold the tss wire harness in place. There are several. I would like some backups in case I break them removing them from the factory grill

 

I broke one, used a zip tie because I was not as thoughtful as you.
