If I ever have access to a mill again it will be years down the road more than likely. I just figured I would try to make something useful while I am there and they are supplying the materials.

Took a look at my drums again yesterday. Found one side to have the front shoe not seated properly in the cylinder; fixed that. Re adjusted the shoes and lo and behold....its still clicking. quieter than it was, and now it's only under braking. I also hear a grinding type noise when turning either direction. Also it won't hold an adjustment, right when I finished adjusting it held on the hill that is my driveway. After giving it a 5 minute ride around the hood it no longer held. Wish it didn't get so dark so soon, makes the whole process that much more of a pain in the ass.

I recently had my wheel rings powered coated at Mass Wheel Works in West Springfield they are located at 47 Allston Ave not too far from the Big E. I paid 50.00 and had them back in a few days. Great shop. IMG_2193[1].jpg

x2, that's what I want to know also. $50 total is awesome and worth the drive to Springfield!

He did say it was just the Rock Rings not the entire rim so $50 is fairly reasonable for those rings.

I agree. But at 50 each... that would be tough.

It is, but keep in mind I'm close to Boston. Around here, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if someone was charging $50/ring for powder coat. I also don't have a good gauge on how much powder coating runs. Order of magnitude, I'm not sure if I should expect $25/wheel or $100/wheel. I can start calling places for quotes, figured I'd start here. I know @mach1man001 has a good place. They do phenomenal work, but they're too rich for my blood to just powder coat some wheels.

I like how that ties into the white letters on the KO2's.

I worked at AAA in Durham, NC for a year doing oil changes and driving to get parts etc.. (a.k.a. I was the everyones bitch for $7.85 p/h) and there were a surprising amount of techs and mechanics who couldn't drive/could barely drive stick and I would often have to move them around for them. Never made sense to me, I figured any guy who does cars for a living would know how to drive stick.

So as I was driving down to mow this morning my wife called. Our builder called and told her they poured our cement floor this morning. Wasn't supposed to happen until this weekend but they were going to pour another job site and it wasn't ready...called my guy at 6 am and asked if we were, our builder said, come on over! So we have our floor now and the walls are being made in panels off site potentially this week as well, next week at the latest. Moving faster than we thought possible at this point really. Monday we damproofed, Tuesday drainage/stone and partial back-fil and now this morning before 10 am we have our floor.
Sorry if you guys don't care about this, but it excites me so I'm putting some pics up as we go!

Are you guys planning on insulating the outside of your foundation? Now's definitely the time to do it.

I have been wondering about that actually and am going to ask our contractor today. How big of a deal would you say it is if we don't?

Really it depends on if you're going to utilize it as living space. Concrete is a crap insulator but a huge thermal mass. You can obviously go through and insulate the interior of the cellar later, but you lose out on all of that thermal mass. On the other hand, if you insulate the outside of it now, you retain the thermal mass benefits and it'll help regulate the temps in your basement (not to mention making it easier to heat/cool down there). And it's a LOT easier to do that now than it will be once they backfill it, obviously.

But, if you're not planning on using it as living space then it's kind of a waste of $$
