Lots of backroads and just dirt road driving. I’m sure it will be some good views in the fall. If your interested in the drive ardbeg for a day run is happening....

Never been there in general so it'll be nice to check out at the least! Definitely want to come up to Ardbeg eventually with you guys, not sure if I can make this one cause of work (is it the weekend of the 26th?).

Dammit haha. Rest of my staff at work are away so I can't miss this weekend. All my camp gear is ready too for an overnight. Would have been perfect. :annoyed:

Will try to make the next few if it happens.

We went as a group last year. Its nice views but pretty boring driving .

Just a bunch of maintained dirt roads.

If you've got some camping gear you're welcome to join us in ardbeg this weekend. Something for everyone there's guys that have run these completely stock too. Just need to be careful.

I did! For reference, I'm not actually from Ontario so even finding places this close to downtown is worth knowing for me - it was a decent day exploring. Definitely better for bikes or ATV's. Was there for about 3-4 hours I think. I can see how it would be boring for anyone comparing it to any place up north, but I'm happy knowing it's there for very short day trips. Great views. I'll go back, at the very least to hike, etc.

I'll rip up Ardebg with you guys next season for a Spring opener. Doesn't look like I'll make this one.

Ganiraska would be so much better if it was cheaper .

That $30 for a day is just too much for what it is

I don't know how many of you would be interested but Peter and I are looking into getting our ham radio certificate.
If anyone else wants the study stuff etc I could send the PDF of it

It's for the most part free to get and good for life. Way more reliable and clear with better distance than gmrs and cb.

That license also means you could rub uhf and vhf.

Everybody we wheel with doesn’t even have a CB, they ain’t gonna get a ham radio. Handhelds worked good for swisha, CB works well enough.

You’ll be the only two in groups with it

This all came from trying to get gmrs in car radios. Can’t find any though....battery life was a pain in the ass in swisha.

It's huge in BC and getting big on the east coast. Eventually it will make its way here and figure for longer trips it could come in hand.

If you guys want a good sleeping bag system, go to the military surplus stores. The Canadian arctic rated sleeping system consists of 2 bags (mummy bag inside a "regular" bag) but is down stuffed and packs down real small into a "stuffer" bag and the whole system is about 6kg (12lbs). You are still nice and toasty at -40C. (I can speak from experience). They generally sell for under $200, a civilian version of the same thing would be over $600+.
