Morning ladies .......so question for you rim guys that understand all that wheel back spacing crap. I currently have the stock 17 in TRD sport rims and bora 1.25 spacers with 255/80/17 cooper st maxx. I like the offset now as it sticks out a little bit but not too much and gives a good stance. I'm looking to get SCS or method rims somewhere down the road but trying to figure if I still need to run the spacers or remove them? Also staying with a 17 ray 10 and see SCS has a new 17x9 with 3.5 backspace would this be better then the normal ray 10?

 

I think those will be a good bit more aggressive than your current setup. The 3.5 bs alone on the SCS wheels would make them stick out further than your current setup (stock sport wheels are 5.5 bs about 4.25 with the spacers). Then the scs wheels are another 1.5” wider which would make them more aggressive.

 

I have 16x8 3.5 bs. And 35s. Makes the tire/wheel stick out a bit

 

Yep, it’s kind of a PITA to do it. And on the 2018s they changed the plugs up from 2017 so you have to wire it up to the plug for the horn on the passenger side and not the plug for the horn in the middle

Order from Denis Mastie at Belfast Performance. He’s local, keeps them in stock, and it was cheaper than online. Like $90 for 2 horns, the wiring harness, and grim speed mount.

Change of plans, I won’t be installing the bumper this weekend as I have to install the new lift kit on the 4Runner and install the lift on my Tacoma.

I’ll save the bumper for another day if you want to try to reschedule and do them together.

While we're on the topic of horns...
I had a horn button relocation due to steering wheel issues in my DD, 98 Acura CL. Recently the horn stopped working and now I need to know where to test with a mulit-meter (and on what setting?) to verify if it's the horn or the button that needs replacement. Thanks in advance.

 

Working great have had a few thing up there. No problems yet
