    Morning all:
This rain is getting old, REALLY OLD! :annoyed: :(
Can't mow, trucks a mess, rivers too high to fish, and really putting a dampener on archery hunting.

Truth. My grass is like a hay field but the ground is saturated and too wet for me to even try to cut it.

    Evening all:
Went out hunting tonight and had a totally worthless buddy accompany me, Rusty the cat!
He followed me up to the tree stand, laid at the bottom for awhile, then decided to climb up the ladder and lay on the platform purring away. I figured if he would have stayed on the ground, and any deer would have come through, they would have been totally fixated on him and never known I was there, could have worked to my benefit!

I see some folks here like guns. A few years back I found 3 weapons under the floorboards of a storage closet in our old house. They were wrapped in a 1960 newspaper.
There was a Colt 45 in a leather holster marked US, a Colt 22 automatic (1930s), and a Springfield 03 rifle.
All were loaded - the 45 had hollow point bullets according to the gun shop that bought them from us.
Research showed that a former owner was a Rear Admiral who died in the 1970s.

:frusty: why can't I find something like that. Bet all three weapons had some serious collector value.

I think once restored they could be valuable. They were pretty rusted when found. The former owner was Rear Admiral Ellis Reed - Hill.

    Afternoon all:
Too late Mike, looks like they were already sold to a gun shop.
:woot: , think I hit the mother load this morning, saw 9 deer but all too far for the bow, they looked like all doe. Did see a couple of small scrapes also, need the rut to kick in to get the buck moving, there is still hope!

need some cool weather to give them the much needed boot in the azz.
I'll try Saturday if the weather window looks good.
Temps supposed to be normal after the front comes by.

Sat. is the first day of ML here in Pa, looks like the weather should be good for the 1 week season. Today 3 of those deer just stood there and looked at me, easy pickings with a ML but too far for the bow, after next week I doubt if any will just stand there!
Just saw on the weather channel, now they're calling for AM showers on Sat. :( :frusty:

Gary and Sue, stay safe, hope you are away from the storm.

We were spared as the hurricane hammered Panama City and Mexico Beach Florida about 150 miles East of us.

The Carolinas are expected to get heavy rain but the storm is moving fast now so maybe the cumulative result will not be too bad. They have suffered too much already.

Prayers for all effected by this strong Cat 4 Hurricane.

Normal is a long journey ahead for those unfortunate victims.

Supposed to be a tropical storm when it rolls through here... No worse, supposedly, than Florence, although Michael has somewhere to be, and isn't dawdling like Florence did. 5 - 6 am and gone by 3 pm. Thanks.

    Here's something I don't understand.
All of official's are telling residents to leave the area's that are affected by the hurricane.
I understand that some don't have the means to do so.
But yet w/all the warnings all of the big networks send people there...it just doesn't make sense to me.
    Ratings I guess.
