    i'm following because yeah, i'd like a better sound from the truck. v6's are hard to make sound good and this one sounds buzzy already with existing kits.

    the stock exhaust does suck and moving to a freer flowing 2.5" setup with straight through mufflers should see a nice gain. the trick is making it actually sound good at the same time. the stock refractive chambered muffler definitely doesn't help for flow but toyota did that for noise while we don't care if it's louder, i just don't want drone or buzz. i'd also like to remove the rear cats and tuck that y-pipe for clearance. all of which should gain some power but i know it's not going to be some huge gain. if it'll be felt anywhere it'll be above 5k rpms.

    has DD looked into Helmholtz resonators after the muffler as a means to handle drone? there are calculators out there to determine resonator size and pipe length and there's obviously enough room for it. that will solve the drone issue.

    I’d purchase a Helmholtz resonator or J-pipe that could be adapted to an existing exhaust system

    DD already has the drone figured out. It’s just a matter of sending me the New Y-Pipe with the 16” Muffler already built inside the Y-Pipe. This is currently where we are with this system. Once I receive it, I will switch out my Old Y-Pipe for my New Y-Pipe and take some more clips. Just got my truck back yesterday so I will try working on some more videos as the system sits currently from outside of the truck. I’ll have it set up right next to the exhaust so the content should be nice and clear.

    I can agree with that but you weren't saying that, you were trying to tell me how it wasn't causing me a loss and acting like you know more about my life and situation than me. Im honestly just going to wait and buy this when its ready and do the swap.I really like the idea of a side exit on my truck too!
    Can someone please link me to the page or area where I can see the details on buying the tt kit for paying for it. I found the thread but goodness gracious I can't find the info on actually buying it bc everyone is sto excited and talking about it.

    I know that,hence why I said I'm gonna wait until it's ready and buy it and swap them instead of going through the trouble of putting my stock system back on.

    it's not for sale so therefore there is no information on buying it. just saying....putting the stock catback on isn't that hard. the TT kit likely won't be for sale and shipped for another 6 months and will likely be well over $5k if not more.

    If it helps, Mat gave Christmas time as the projected earliest availability. And yes, aiming for 6k would be a safe bet

    well considering it will turn this truck into what it should be and I'll likely never cross paths with another of the same,itll be worth it.

    Considering what you get out of it and the time he has put into it I think that's a fair and worthy price tag!!

    I specifically said "Christmas time as the projected earliest availability". This means that you could very well be correct and there is no point in betting.

    @KTJO 4x4 @dirtydeeds

    Sorry. I am that local guy that fell through the cracks. I live in Orange County, and I have a stock truck with 2k on it.

    I knew Keith has a busy month, but I haven’t had a chance to give him a call. I’m a full time paramedic, and I am also attending a full time nursing program. I got loaded down with homework, class, community outreach programs, and clinical shifts, working, and apparently I also need to sleep... Im Sorry I disappeared for hot minute.

    I’m still interested in being the test truck if nobody else has stepped up. I can reasonably get my truck down to you, Keith, in a couple of weeks. I have one more clinic to attend next week and a paper to write but my schedule will open up at the end of October when my first module is complete. Let me know what your plans are if you’re interested. And if you found someone else, let me know and I’ll get on the list to buy one of these systems!

    That is great. We are looking to get the test truck in there end of October/beginning of November. Get this finished up and then have a group buy towards the middle to end of November. Would we be able to have it for a full week, maybe two at the max?

    I’ll have to see what I have going on at the time. I may do a camping trip but they are loose plans, most likely gonna happen more towards Christmas though (living in SoCal has its benefits). I have a commuter car so I wouldn’t be in a rush to get it back as long as I don’t need it for something else.
