Hey Taco World, I wanted to lift my 2017 TRD off road Tacoma with a kit that wont break the bank 2-3" max. I'm not a hardcore off road/overland type of person either. I do plan on camping and hitting the slopes more often though... Any recommendations?

    thank you guys!

I'm in the same boat, I just went with a Revtek leveling kit. Made is so I could get 33" tires.

Did you have to trim anything to fit the 285s?

Nope not trimming at all. I haven't rubbed at all yet but only done some mild offroading no wheeling or anything.

Bought my 2018 TRD O/R 4x4 at the end of Sept. Took it to 4wheel Auto Parts and had the 2.25 Pro Comp front level with the front
differential drop installed. The diff. drop is important to keep the cv joints at factory angle. I'm no pro at wheeling, just wanted something to be able to add some aggressive rubber when my stock tires finally wear out. Eventually may do a suspension lift, again nothing extreme, so I'm thinking 5100 Bilstiens all around just to level out and to not hamper the trucks ability stock.
**EDIT** diff drop for 4 wheel drive models of course...

In my case, the 2.25 Pro comp front has felt pretty much like stock. This was what i was looking for when i took it to 4wheel auto parts and this kit is what the tech recomended. So far with nearly 3000 miles I've been happy.

How have the lifts and bigger tires affected y’all’s fuel mileage? Also how much of a Speedo error do the bigger tires like 33” cause?

I've averaged 15.2mpg on almost every tank in the last 1500 miles (less than 4 weeks into ownership).
