Ok guys. Here is the scoop. I filled-in some explanations on my pic. It is pouring rain outside so you will have to wait for the engine bay pics. I ended up running the wires through the lower hole you see in the picture to the relay box provided in the kit. I mounted the relay on the far right radiator support bolt close to the battery. (I checked and it was cool to the touch on a hot engine) This location is easily accessible if the fuse ever needs to be changed as it is right in front of the battery. Using the picture above as a reference, it's location is about even with the oil sticker in the top right corner. I then ran the ground line with the factory wiring harness attached to the front drivers quarter panel and up to the factory battery ground bolt (easily located next to the battery). The positive line was routed the same way but continued between the battery and the fuse box then connected into the positive terminal bolt. That should be about everything you'd need to know in addition to the arrows and descriptions in the pic above and what has been posted earlier. I will add a few engine compartment pics tomorrow or Friday when the rain stops so you will have them for a possible weekend install. Let me know if you have questions..

This looks great. Nicely done. Plus I see the two great write ups are 3gen manual transmission Tacoma’s.

Just want to bring this attention to 3rd gen auto transmission with owners (I have the tow package FYI). I had a spare hour before work this morning and noticed any which way I tried with my new 4 horn’s and it’s bracket that this small automatic transmission cooler gets in the way of properly installing this. See pictures for reference.

I know I’ll get these to work but I need to reverse engineer the install and adapt it to my set up which possibly some others have also. I’m gonna take my time on it to install and get it right the first time. This might take me a little bit of time and if I figure out a solution I’ll post it up here in this thread for this set-up.

Can’t wait to hear these horns bark.

So it won’t bolt to that hole everyone it uses? That’s a shame. What light bar mount is that?

I have the RI Grille with a RI double row led bar and another RI single row led bar below the grille and above the bumper.

I noticed that there's only one bolt to mount the entire system to the truck. Have you noticed any rotating issues due to vibrations?

@BartMaster1234, would it be okay to zip-tie both ends of each bracket to the truck to minimize rotation? I want to make sure the zip-ties won't hurt the circuit. Forgive my ignorance.

You should be fine drilling some holes and adding additional mounting points. I’m working on a new bracket for 3rd Gens.

That flat bar with one bolt has how I’ve been running my setup for two years now. Never had an issue.

Nice. Thank you. I'll try drilling holes.

You can get by with the top holes on the A and F horns.

    I do have mounting suggestion.

Ditch the mounting bar, use the 2 stock horn locations for 2 of the 4 horns, put horn 3 mounted on the hole shown in @NC TACO 4X4 pic, put 4th horn on the pre-threaded hole (welded nut) on the left of the center bar. Then you have all 4 in whatever arrangement you like, and have a nice flat bar to use elsewhere modding your truck.

I do have a mounting option for this, it’s called Setup 3. So far I’ve had one customer ever order it.

That might be an awkward angle for mounting, unless I'm not understanding clearly.

If I use the top holes on all horns for Setup 2|Tier 2 and skip the bar altogether, would the "redundant ground" be sufficient for the circuit?

He was working to figure out how to mount, and has 4 threaded holes there to use, assuming he removed the stock horns. So it seemed like a simple solution in my little brain. I have not yet bought a set, life got in the way when I entered a previous group buy. I do have an Auto tranny with tow package. I would think that the horns would fit with setup#1 as @NC TACO 4X4 mounted them and still be above the transmission cooler.

    HOWEVER...

IF keeping the stock horns for a switchable option, you could stack the stock horn brackets to use 1 mounting point, then do the same with the #3 setup using 2 or 3 mount points as desired.

As long as the horns are bolted to the frame, you don’t need the grounding cable. I added it as a redundancy.

I was actually planning on making end brackets and drilling an additional hole on each end of the included bracket to make it more stable. (just in case I'm Bo Duking down the road)

Never even noticed that we were both 6MT owners who installed this. I will say that there are plenty of bolts behind the grille for mounting these horns. Thanks for catching this! For me, I wasn't worried at all about physically mounting the horns but more concerned with the wiring into the factory switch etc.

Are these considered "bare metal"? Or do I need to sand the sections where the horns will be mountet? And if I use the top holes of the horns, am I required to sand them to bare metal?

You should definitely give them a test blast before mounting everything just to make sure everything works. I did. I will say they horns aren't as loud as I had imagined, but the tone is PERFECT. I also keep reminding myself these are DOT approved.

Nope. The factory horns work in the same way and ground through the bracket.

You may need to sand the bottom rail if it doesn’t sound properly.

Do NOT get me wrong, I have ZERO regrets! I've always wanted louder, better sounding horns but not wanting to worry about running air, tanks, etc. This is my favorite addition to my truck by far! :D
