    Yes in the 80's you'd find tapes that people ripped out of cars and discarded on the streets or side of interstate. The street was littered with strands blowing in the wind.

    Eight track tapes in the car, book of matches stuck in as a shim to keep it on the right track. In the house it was a vinyl LP or a 45 with the little plastic inserts to spin true on the turntable.
